First of all let me congratulate you on the passed interview Moon Light!

Thank you.

Wow, 9 months is a long time, compared to what other offices (with more applications mind you) are taking. I am getting very impatient with the whole procedure. So, he did ask you about your job situation? Interesting... I am in-between jobs right now, so they wouldn't have the latest job info on my application. Did they ask you anything about citations/traffic tickets?

Yes, he did asked me about my job, my company's name, but it seems to me that he just would like to test my English. In your case, if you changed your job, you should tell him to update your file at the begining of the interview because he will go through every page of the N400 and ask you to confirm.

He did not ask me anything about citation/traffic tickets since I have not ever got any.

Thank you very much for the detailed info Moon Light!

Good luck at the Oath and hopefully you get the date fast! Let us know how it goes and where it was scheduled, how many people etc...

I got the email notification, as well as on line status update on 29 May that my oath was scheduled and that they sent the oath letter to my address. I received it today, my oath will be 23 Jun at Oklahoma City Office (same place as the interview). I will share the experience of the ceremony then.

Moon Light

Thanks again friend!

Congrats Moon Light!

It seems things are moving rather fast my friend. Thank you very much for the detailed information! It helps very much having someone experienced with your local office.

Good luck at the Oath!!!

I would certainly do it immediately. If it has been more than 120 days since being in line, then you should contact them - infopass, call whatever. This is ridiculous!

So my husbands interview date is near by (17th june).. i have a few questions:

- Should he take his tax transcripts/tax return copies of the past years? And what about W2? If yes, then would the most recent year be enuff or would he need more like 3 or 5 years?

- Since he has mentioned 2 traffic tickets (speeding ticket + missing side mirror) in the application, he has all the paper work related to tht from the issuing authority to show on the day of interview. But just last week he got another ticket for speeding! Kind of nervous about it now, he still hasnt received the ticket in mail. So what should he do? He plans to mention that he got a ticket.

- Should he take take anything extra other than the docs mentioned on yellow letter and interview letter? ive seen people taking alot of docs just to be on the safe side..

(P.S. he has applied himself based on 5 year PR)

(P.S. he has applied himself based on 5 year PR)

1. He should bring tax returns/transcripts for the last 5 years. Timely filing indicates good moral character. In many cases they dont ask for those but there were incidents when applicants were asked to show them.

2. Regarding W-2. They recommend to bring everything that might be relevant to your current employment...My lawyer suggested to bring a letter from a current employer confirming I work for them and also pay stubs from prior companies. I'm taking copies of W-2s as well. If your husband decides to go with tax returns not transcripts then the W-2s should be already included into the tax return packages. There's a good chance they might not even ask for any of those but there were cases IOs asked for these documents.

3, Traffic tickets. He should bring all proofs of that his traffic tickets were paid. As far as the recent one - have him take care of the ticket asap. He may call the issuing authority if he hasn't received it yet and ask to pay for it over the phone or other way of possible.

4. As far as "extra" documents - depends on his case, If he received his GC based on marriage (current or past) - all evidences of bona fide marriage are highly recommended (leases, joint banking account, bills, trip tickets, pictures etc). There were incidents they asked about prior marriage to assure it wasn't faked, Also, the paperwork related to his immigration history (copy of entry/re-entry records, change of as status if any..). again, all depends on the case. In many situations they don't even ask for extra stuff but if he doesn't want to come back for a second appointment with USCIS or to send them something via mail and wait for a decision then it's better to have everything that would be relevant to the case on the interview.

Good luck!

Thank you for such a detailed reply! :) I will tell him to do so! Hopefully it goes smoooth!

I had a couple of speeding tickets myself and while I did mention them, it was not an issue so I would not worry about it. But your husband should bring the evidence that every ticket was taken care of. The interviewer said "it's not a big deal" but they still wanted to see the receipts showing that I was all paid up :)

Tell him to slow down! Just kidding, look who's talkin'

Good luck, I really hope it goes well for you two, I know you have been waiting a long time... At least when you move to the US, it'll be in the lovely state of California with great weather!
