Do you have anyone know, How long between test and oath ceremony in LA? I passed test two weeks ago but online still didn't update.

Hi Xinruo,

I think LA has ceremonies every 3rd Wednesday of the month. The last ceremony was on the 18th so the next one will be on April 22nd until further notice. But it looks like you will be in the April 22nd group which is a little far away so I guess they have no pressure to send your notification. Most applicants in L.A get their letters within 2-3 weeks. I also saw others get their letters on the spot but only because the ceremony was 3 to 4 days away and there was still room. I have my interview yesterday and San Bernardino and the officer said he was sending me to the next ceremony April 22nd but I will receive the letter in the mail. So I believe that you will definitely be on the 22nd Batch

Thanks for updating my entry!

All went well in Boston on Wednesday - except I forgot to submit my 2x2 photo with a signature. After they handed out the certificates to 375+ people, a few of use were called up to sign the photo on our certificate. The spelling on my name was correct so i then left. The entire process took about 2.5 hours from start to finish.

Today I went to the Social Security Administration to update my citizenship status and I also applied for a US passport. The guy at the post office made me a copy of the certificate so that I have proof of my status until the original is sent back to me in the mail.

Good luck to everyone else! It is such a relief to finally be done with this process. Cheers!

Congrats AbuFlaan!

Your office in Santa Ana (if I am not mistaken) is currently processing N400 from April 2014 so it'll be a while longer before they get to October 2014 applicants...Some field offices are just really busy and understaffed. You can follow your field office on the USCIS website to see their progress. Google USCIS and timeline and itll take you to the website where you can choose your field office :-)

Yes you are right, its Santa Ana. And we regularly check that website.. before April 2014, it was some date of May.. so basically it went back one month <_<
My husband is thinking to call uscis and maybe put up a service request or something. Last he called them, his case was not even sent to the field office.

My interview on Friday went very well. It was really smooth. I was scheduled for 1:20PM at the Federal Plaza in New York City and got there around 12:45. I had to wait for a little over an hour and a half then finally I was called. The interviewer was very friendly and didn't give me any hard time. We made some small talk then we went through the form. I've answered all the questions the same way I filled up the form, I told him about my wife not living in the US currently and made a note and asked me where she works right now, I answered honestly and gave all the details. I've traveled since the application so I told him the dates of my travel and he noted. He then started asking some easy questions, "who did the US battle with in WW2?", "What is the supreme law of the land?". Things like that, easy stuff. Then he made me read a question "Where is the White House located?" and made me write the answer on a piece of paper, I wrote "The White House is in Washington DC" and he told me I passed! Usually, if there aren't any changes to your application, they make you wait a little longer and give you your interview date the same day, but there were some mistakes on how I filled my name (because I changed my name) so he said he has to send it back to the office first and get it corrected, then they'll mail me my oath date. He said it could take about a month. Better late then never! I'm in no rush right now so it's not a big deal, at least I know that the hardest part is done!

On March 5, 2015, we started the interview scheduling process for your Form N-400

called USCIS today, the answer was they are currently processing the application received on May 17, 2014. So I need to wait for anorther 5 months. This is rediculous, and if no emergency, there is no wasy to expedite this process.

Hi Newbaby,

The USCIS website is not reliable and the CSR on the 800 number just read what they see on the website as well. Not helpful at all. my Field office. According to the website, USCIS since the last update had processed applications for June 19, 2014 applicants. However, I had applied in November 2014 and completed my interview last Thursday. So you should not rely on that update solely. Let's vross fingers and hope you get it soon. Good luck!
