How long after their interview did your FIL and MIL get their oath letter. I see my interview was before theirs and I'm sill waiting for the letter (though I did get the text/email that it had been generated).

It was only a few weeks; and then it took less than a week after we got the text/e-mail notification.

Sorry it is taking so long, hopefully your letter will come soon!

I got the letter today. Oath scheduled for next Wednesday!

How long did the ceremony in Chicago take? (I need to book an appointment at the passport agency to get an expedited passport that afternoon).

Awesome, congrats!

The ceremony took less than 2 hours and they actually had two passport representatives at the ceremony to take questions on passports and they also gave information on people needing expedited passports too so you should be in good shape.

05/05 - Conditions removed

12/13 - Divorced USC

10/10/14 - Filed N-400 based on 5+yrs LPR

10/24/14 - NOA

11/12/14 - Fingerprinted

11/14/14 - In line e-notification

12/01/14 - E-notification of interview scheduled

12/05/14 - Received interview letter - Interview scheduled for January 8th.

01/08/15 - Passed citizenship interview and recommended for approval!

01/19/15 - In line for oath ceremony

02/19/15 - Oath scheduled for March 6th, 2015!

We live in Illinois but are much closer to the USCIS office in Indianapolis. We did our removal of conditions interview in Indianapolis and our fingerprints for naturalization. But now our citizenship interview has moved to Chicago. Is there some requirement to do the citizenship interview in your home state? Or are the smaller offices like Indianapolis unable to do citizenship interviews?

Chicago is doable, but it changes a 90 mile drive to a 150 mile drive - each way. Not to mention dealing with downtown Chicago traffic. Even St Louis would be closer than Chicago.

We are in the official coverage area of the Chicago office. But I was pleasantly surprised that we have conducted all our business up to this point at the Indianapolis office. But they changed us to Chicago for the citizenship interview. In Indianapolis, we can get there and finish our business and be home in half a day. Chicago will require an overnight stay for a morning appointment.

But, as the saying goes, whatever, we are just looking forward to getting this done. Thanks.
