Unfortunately, stuff happened, and I wasnt able to file in Oct. :( Good news is, I should be able to file this month some time! One question I have though.
When you go for the interview, and you take in your (in my case British) passport, will there be any issues if its expired? Mine expired a long time ago, and as I never had any intention of travelling back to the UK, I never got it renewed. I still have it though.

You'll be fine with an expired passport.

Do I need with my husband when I go to the interview. I follow the three years rule to apply citizenship.

No need for spouse. I applied under 3 year rule, and the IO didn't ask about my wife (who wasn't there). I assume you provided tax returns showing joint filing though?

08/12/2010 => Day 00 => Package sent to Chicago lockbox

08/13/2010 => Day 01 => Package received and signed for in Chicago

08/23/2010 => Day 11 => Email and Text receipt notification

08/23/2010 => Day 11 => Cheques cashed - $1010 and $355

08/26/2010 => Day 14 => NOAs received in the mail

08/30/2010 => Day 18 => Received biometrics appointment letter (for 9/23)

09/03/2010 => Day 22 => Did walk-in biometrics

09/16/2010 => Day 35 => Received interview letter for 10/21

10/15/2010 => Day 64 => AP received

10/20/2010 => Day 69 => EAC received

10/21/2010 => Day 70 => AOS Interview, approved, I-551 stamp and card production ordered

10/30/2010 => Day 79 => Green card received

Oath Ceremony in miami this morning only took around 50 minutes, but we waited outside to get into the building about 30 minutes.. so total 1:30 minutes we were done...

I become USC today! thank you everybody for help, i hope everyone finish this deal without any problem...

now see you at k1 visa section :)

Yayyyyy!!! Today was my oath ceremony :) there were a total of 50 new USC's from 28 different countries.... And was only me from Australia :)

I've reddened my status :) thanks again for everyone's support and wise words, may speed be with everyone who havent yet completed this process :)... (Omg is this immigration stuff really over!? Lol) :)

08/23/17... Called NVC because payment still showing "In Process", was advised to email proof of payment to have them manually correct it

Today I passed the interview and took the oath in Newark, NJ - I am finally a US Citizen! My wife can't call me anymore a freaking immigrant haha :)

I ran into a problem though that I would like to share: I filed the N400 80 days before the third anniversary of my permanent residency as part of the early filing process. However apparently 3 full years must pass also from your wedding date. I happened to file the N400 on October 10 while I got married in October 11, 2011...the officer pre-approved me however he said that this is considered a potentially non-compliant application and therefore it needed the approval of another officer as well. I had to wait to unpleasant hours before being officially approved. In the end everything went well so that's the important thing.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing. I'm glad they approved you. Yours is the fourth case I've read about where the interviewe realized that the applicant sent in his application before he had been married for three years. You and one other were approved and the other two were denied.

Passed interview and civic tests yesterday (2/23/2015). The USCIS officer in SF application support center is so nice and professional. The whole process is very smooth. They will probably schedule my oath ceremony in late March. The civic and history questions are: #38, #7, #60, #29, #61 and #16. You really don't need to worry too much as long as you study the booklet.

During the interview, we went through almost every item I filled in my application. But it was a very quick review. I believe the process is to allow the USCIS officer to validate all the answers and information the applicant provided.

One thing I learnt from the interview is the requirement for selected service. This is slightly different from what I thought. I remember some posts say that if you are older than 26 when you obtain your green card, you don’t need to register for selected service. I don't think this is correct. It seems to me that the criteria is that whether you are older than 26 when you come to the US for the first time as a resident, not necessarily as a permanent resident. For my case, this doesn't matter ...
