On September 25, 2013, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. Meanwhile, processing of this case is on hold until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires.

The above is my current status on the uscis website.

I am patiently waiting to see what will happen. Whether my petition will be approved or not in such a situation is entirely subjection to the discretion of the officer involved.

Is it common for the USCIS website to say you're in "Initial review" when you're already passed it?

I ask because my wife and I are eight months into the process, waiting for the interview, and after we changed our address on file a month ago they registered the new address but we show as in "Initial review," just like you after submitting your RFE response.
