I am applying for citizenship., form I-400.
My legal name as shown on my European country's passport, includes special accents.
The name on my green card is without these accents.

How should I fill in part 2.-Information about you
bullet no. 1: Your current legal name - should I include the accents or not?
example of the name with accents: Jiřina Žádaná.

the name without accents: Jirina Zadana
thank you

Without. US does not use any of those accents. Copy your name exactly from your Green Card and Social Security

Just to clarify: legal name and name on green card are not the same thing.

Legal name is the name on your birth certificate unless you have a marriage certificate or name change document to prove otherwise. That's why there's a question about legal name and a separate question about green card name.

For example, if your name on your birth certificate or passport is Alan Mark but your Green Card says Allen Mark, then you put down Alan Mark as your legal name and Allen Mark as your name as it appears on your green card.

To the OP, I'm not sure about accents. I tend to agree with VFittialdi on this issue. Accents are generally ignored in the US. However, since the application asks for your full legal name, I would include them if the PDF will accept them. If not, you can leave them out or add them in by hand. To be honest I don't think it matters.
