After our AOS Interview, the IO handed us a continuance notice for our interview results. In the letter it states that they need to review our application and will let us know the decision not more than 120 days. I was disappointed that we didn't get an approval right away. The interview seemed to be doing well. The IO was candid and asked us how we meet...etc. We responded candidly with our love story that span for more than 12 years. She seem to respond well especially when we said that we've been traveling back and forth for almost 4 years every weekend to see each other. We have more than all the documents that she needed and she only asked for bank statements, utility bills, credit card statements, etc. It was all ok...and so it seems. I wonder why they have to review and I don't what the process hereon....please any thoughts will really help.

Hi! We are on the same boat. We had our interview exactly a week ago and we got a really nice and friendly lady as our immigration officer. Everything went really well. The interview was very casual, we were even laughing and making jokes and small talk about random things. But since our officer did not have my complete alien file, she could not approve us on the spot even though she said that we she would if only she had everything. So now we are just waiting......she said we should hear back from her within 30 days but it could take up to 120 days. All of this uncertainty sucks. I'm like obsessively checking our mailbox everyday hoping to find a letter from USCIS in it.

You know you will be approved and get your green card. It really is just a matter of time and lots of waiting. Hopefully we hear something from them very soon! Good luck and keep us posted. :)

I had the same experience with the immigration officer. We did not get approved on the spot but were given a letter with a box checked our case is held for file review. However, the statement says within 60 days so I would be able to schedule an infopass appointment if I don't hear anything by then. They usually require additional time to review your case if you offer additional documents at the time of interview. We just need to relax and wait but I know it's frustrating.

Check the USCIS website daily for your status. That's what I did, and just one day after getting the same letter you did (continuance), my AOS got approved and now I'm just waiting for the green card in the mail.

Hi, I got the same letter and never got verbal approval during the interview, but the USCIS officer updated my case to card production an hour after we finished the interview. I was paranoid because I kept reading stories about pleasant chit-chat interviews on this site, and we got a pretty strict officer who kept asking questions and trying to trip up our answers to look for inconsistencies. After the questions, she gave me the paper with the 'review' option checked, and she said to expect the green card in the mail in two to four weeks if her review went well. (My husband, who's never set foot in vj, was wondering why I'm so disappointed with the interview result, because to him, it went as smoothly as it possibly could have.)

I'd bet your case will be updated any time soon. If not, you'll probably just get a surprise green card in the mail a couple of weeks from now. :-)
