The one year contact requirement?

Hi everyone.

This one year contact requirement that comes attached to every email notice we get from the NVC, is there something about it we're not seeing?

My wife and I have a priority date of September 23 of last year for the IR-1 we've filed and have since then made a number of 'contacts' to the NVC by phone and of course have turned in our 864's and the DS-260 online, etc.

The only thing that remains for us to do is the IV packet which we'll mail this week.

The NVC has acknowledged each submission by email, except every correspondence they send us has that same blurb about 'Don't let a year pass without contacting the NVC by phone or email" etc.

Is there a special 'contact' of some kind I'm going to have to make before September 23 or are we okay?

Tx!

No. The NVC simply needs you to call, make a payment, or submit paperwork up to 1 year between the last time you've contacted them and the next time.

For instance if you submitted your AOS paperwork last year on Sept 23, you would have until Sept 23 this year to call them or pay the IV or submit the ds-261 to keep your case active.

Sounds like you've done a lot of things since the date you've posted.
