Sometimes a person's perceptions are skewed by what they want (and want others) to believe.

Sure! The same logic apply to other races too?

So? I think it's quite obvious from the stories you posted that both of those people had mental problems.

In the Adam Lanza case his background along with his Mother's was heavily scrutinized. In the TM/GZ case Zimmerman was run through the ringer regarding his past. just because every thread doesn't turn into a lynching doesn't mean we don't scrutinize a criminal's background based solely on their color.

The other factor that comes into play on this board Marvin is that most folks here know your pattern of trying to expose things where a lot of the trimes those things don't really exist. I'd guess that sometimes people do things purposely to get a rise out of you.

Probably because most black people live here in America. I've read stories about what it's like to be black in India. Over there, it's more in your face and you can't do anything about it. Even in Japan and Korea, I couldn't stand it when those Japanese women would give out flyers to white service members, but would clam up and flat out ignore my sailors and I. White people take the brunt of it here because of the history of slavery that took place here.

Say what?

There are just under 39 million blacks living in the US as of 2012. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_the_United_States

South Africa alone has 41 million blacks plus 4.6 million "coloured" (not sure what that difference is?). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_South_Africa

Africa has a population of over 1 billion... (I'm pretty sure the majority is black) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_the_world

My hub's friend used to work in construction industry. Every time there is a slump, he would get laid off first while the minorities kept theirs.

He also told us that the company employed an minority but the person sucked in the job.

Instead of firing the person, the company employed another person to fix mess the first person created!

I thought meritocracy should be practised instead of just to be 'politically correct'.

Nice story to add to the fray, but what we don't know is where he fell in the OML of seniority. Perhaps he had less employment time than most/all of the minorities?

don't know :) Now he is working in different industry.

Maybe it is hard to believe that the majority race could get discriminated too.

I'm talking about the level of outrage. Or even talking about the person in general. If the perp was black, we'd be talking about how bad the black community and culture is before the first page is even done. I wasn't even in the Adrian Peterson thread when the single parents in the black community link made it ways in.

There's a difference between a black person and an African citizen.

I think unless you know with authority what his situation was, this anecdote is of limited value in making a point.

I don't really care at this point anymore.

But I do believe what he said.

I'm not sure it's possible to measure the level of outrage correctly on a discussion board unless the person comes right out and says that they're outraged. I know I have misread the intention behind peoples posts before, so I tend to err on the side of caution before jumping to conclusions.

There are certain posters here who love to play the race angle, whether it be black or white, you are one of them. It's very predictable who will say what in a good amount of the threads here if they are race related. Keep in mind though, for every time one of the usual suspects, brings up black culture and how it relates to crime, you also post two or three stories claiming racism. It goes both ways here.
