My hub's friend used to work in construction industry. Every time there is a slump, he would get laid off first while the minorities kept theirs.

He also told us that the company employed an minority but the person sucked in the job.

Instead of firing the person, the company employed another person to fix mess the first person created!

I thought meritocracy should be practised instead of just to be 'politically correct'.

exactly the kind of insane rhetoric that is driving people away and making them turn deaf ears. Yes I know the case in New York but

1, It;s not routine

2. It happens to white people also

We have been over this.

When was the last time an EMT did this to a white person? Are you suggesting I shouldn't bring it up because it only happened once, so that doesn't matter?

McDade was shot multiple times in the chest but did not die immediately. McDade tried to speak with the officer but was handcuffed and started to “twitch” and was left on the street for a prolonged period without receiving first aid, according to the suit.

I get that idea because whenever racism in the world is mentioned, the first country that comes out of someone's mouth is the US. The US bears the brunt of the blame for slavery, all the while there were many countries involved in the slave trade, including the home countries of those sold into slavery. But every time I see or hear a conversation about it, the only country ever mentioned is the US.

He wasn't married at the time of the incident. The fact that he came from a single parent household is relevant, whether he was white or black.

And yet when a white guy goes on a spree, we never delve into their past.

If your husband's friend was being paid more that would sort of make sense

Yes, we most certainly do. I don't know where you get that idea from.

Seeing he was white, that's a given. :P

Not really, he worked the same like the rest of his minorities co-workers.

Wow, he must have been a really bad worker to get laid off before the minorites.

ha ha ha.. He did a pretty job remodeling his own house, so I don't think he is that bad in his job.
