We need a referral for an EXCEPTIONAL immigration attorney in the 11th circuit. My husband and I (USC) found out after getting married that his previous political asylum (which we thought was pending) had been denied with an order to deport. The lawyers we have now (since getting married) said that we have to first reopen political asylum (based on changed country conditions), then bring the marriage into it, and that our marriage basically means nothing as far as adjusting status unless we can first reopen pol. asylum.

We got a 2nd opinion from the director of Immigrant Legal Resource Center who seemed to think that our lawyers should have used the fact that my husband is now eligible for adjustment of status as a basis to reopen the political asylum, which they did not.

There have been other discrepancies with our lawyers (who are in the 9th circuit) which lead us to not trust their expertise. Maybe they just don't have enough experience. But we desperately need a excellent immigration attorney in the 11th circuit who specializes or has extensive experience/knowledge of complicated Motion To ReOpen/Political Asylum/Spousal based Adjustment of Status. We currently have a Petition For Review (of the denial to reopen political asylum based on changed country conditions) in the 11th circuit Federal Court in Atlanta, Georgia. We need a referral ASAP.

Thanks in advance if anyone has any info for us.
