According to the website for the TLC show 90 day fiance, the 2013 total number of approved k-1 visas was just about 30,000. That does not include the denied petitions !! And that is at k-1 interview stage !! Can any of us really imagine the total number of I-129F files that sent a year !!!!! I guess looking at that data, if an approval comes within six months of receipt date, I would be pleased !

While i think many of us appreciate the volume of petitions the USCIS is receiving, it is unacceptable that some people at getting their I129F approved in 1 month while others are waiting over 6 months, simply based on what state the petitioner lives in! Also, the general consensus is that Filipino petitions are being expedited due to a storm that occurred over a year ago and that seems to be the only reason for it.

It truly is irritating to see some go through quickly while others wait and wait. USCIS uses the "background check" as the reason for most of the extremely long delays according to posters on several different visa journey pages. The Philippine expedites are still going through which does seem to not make sense so long after the storm. I have no recourse as of yet because USCIS has their " normal timeline". I must wait until the end of December to be out of that timeline to file any inquiries. At the end of the day, we are at the mercy of the adjudicators, but like many others, I wish I lived in a state that is processed through California !!! I do fear as others do that the slow progress in Texas is about to get even slower with two major holidays approaching ! As I stated in the previous post, at five months now, really hoping for six to be the lucky number !

Yes, Tarzan, like you, we also wish that we weren't petitioning from one of the apparently lesser states so that we could have been assigned to CSC. We would have been married by now, not waiting for our NOA2. Your timeline is pretty similar to ours.

I believe that the Philippine expedites (and any other countries added to the list) are partly responsible for the lengthy delays in processing these petitions. Imagine staning in a line somewhere to be served and anyone who shows up wearing a certain type of sweater gets put in front of you and served first ... you are going to wait a lot longer to get to the front of the line. Before anyone gets all excited about this statement, please note that my criticism is directed at the system, not at the people. In addition to the foregoing, I feel that the allocation of the states to each respective service center is imbalanced to begin with. While this will vary at any given time, TSC appears to be handling a far larger volume of petitions, as well as non K/CR applications.

Called the helpline from the USCIS site and they told me that Texas was processing dates as of May 6th... they told me we were still within normal time range and that nothing could be done, only to be patient. VJ community has been way more helpful and informative than them... OH and to speak to an officer... it was a 96 min wait... I tried to fill out an inquiry online and it wouldn't let me, automatically denied it from being submitted bc of July timeline... :( feeling hopeless...

I did the same thing today - spoke with a completely useless Tier 1 agent who kept telling me there was nothing they could do.. This was after being arrogant and snotty with me. I'd had it - I railed on her in the nicest way possible, told her thank you for nothing, hung up and called back and requested a Tier 2. This is pathetic and I told them that - "When CAN I do something about my petition? Your 5 month time frame is based on a standard processing time, I shouldn't be beholden to the date on the website. At this rate it's going to be 7 months." I was so angry I was shaking.

Can't seem to edit my previous post... I just got off the phone with a Tier 2 who was extremely nice and helpful.

She informed me our petition was last touched on November 14, no RFE, it is in it's last stage but not assigned to an adjudicator. She could not tell me if the background checks were complete but as it is in the last stage I assume they are, since she said the next step is the adjudicator assignment. She opened an inquiry to the Texas Service Center on my behalf stating my concern over our processing times and that if I do not hear back by the end of the month, so roughly 2 weeks, to call back in and request another Tier 2.

Here's to hoping

That is what I was told. Touched on November 14, everything look good and my case was in a queue waiting to be assigned to an officer.

I had nearly the same experience today with a Tier 2 officer. He confirmed that all background checks, etc. are complete so it's just a matter of final review by an adjudicator. I told him I was traveling to Ireland for the holidays - he asked if anyone would be home to review my mail He gave me the clear impression that I would hear something before the New Year!! I don't want to build false hope for anyone because he said he wouldn't say specifically when I would hear, but...

I regret not asking him if he could see where my file is in the queue - how many are in front of it.

Wishing everyone good news for the new year.

PS This would put my processing time inline with most of those I've seen for June fillers.
