We FINALLY finished procrastinating and finished David's applications... they're on their way to Chicago now!

Hoping we don't get an RFE to provide a tax return for 2006... I sent my fed return, W2s and 1099s for 2005 with my I-864. Anyone know whether they'll expect 2006 returns so soon???

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

I asked a similar question last week & was told that 2005 would be considered the most recent(that's all I will have).

There's no way they could expect the 2006 tax returns yet.... I know we haven't even received our W-2's yet, as they aren't even required to have them out until the end of the month.

So, 2005 will do just fine.

Congratulations and good luck :thumbs: I don't think you would need to include 2006 unless you were filing after the tax deadline in April.

we included all the needed returns and we still got and RFE for them. So we resent them and I have seen this happen alot.

So, you might want to be ready for the RFE and send in the requested info even though you already sent it.

It makes no sense, but its the way it works.

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

I received my W2 this week and thought about attaching it, but decided against it. Figured 'asked and answered' with the info I already provided.

I'll let you know if I bypass RFE he!!.... we'll see.

actually last year several people filing around this time were RFE'ed for current taxes even thought they weren't at the April 15th deadline.
