This depends on the consulate. Some will allow you to pay online, some only in person. Some will allow the US Citizen to pay, some only the beneficiary. Some require only cash, others will take several forms of payment.

It is best to use the "Google Custom Search" in the top right hand corner of the screen and see if anyone else has asked a similar question for the consulate or embassy in Bosnia.

Good Luck.

So it's $265 for visa what if he fails is it refundable ?then again if they need more info he would need to go back and provide needed docs so ..It seems hard from Bosnia to get over to us they decline so many people for the smallest things like u have to be precise how many days fiancé was there etc ..can they decline k1visa for no good reason ?? Sorry am all over the place am just worried ..

Thank you for the congrats. :)

The visa fee is non-refundable.

The interview you can prepare each other for, and I would recommend that the US Citizen is present for the interview. They may not let you in the room, but your presence will be known, and it will make a very positive impact.

I don't know about Bosnia, I went through Argentina which was a very easy consulate (very low immigration rate, Argentinians tend to stay in Argentina).

Go over the standard interview questions (a search will find a post with them for you), go over the facts, make sure you're both on the same page.

Good Luck!

It is paid on the day of the interview, at the embassy. They will call his name and tell him to come to one of the windows to have his fingerprints taken and then to another window to make a payment. I remember there was some issue so I couldn't pay with my debit card, luckily I brought enough cash with me too. Tell him to make sure to have enough cash because that seems to be the safest way to make the payment.

That's not the experience I had at all. My interview lasted less than 10 minutes and the CO didn't ask for one single document from my US fiance (now husband), not even the I-134. It was more like a friendly chat, people catching up after not seeing each other for a while :) The embassy might be strict when it comes to other types of visas but from my experience and experience of other beneficiaries from Bosnia I've met through VJ, K1 is not that hard to obtain if your relationship to the petitioner is genuine and if it is, of course you'll know the answers to the questions you're asked, including the one about how long he/she stayed when they visited.

Good luck to you and try to relax a little bit, I know it's hard but this is a waiting game and there is no other way to deal with all this but by learning how to be patient :)

Don't worry that much, lot of people from Bosnia got K1 easily, it's not such big high fraud country. Just have all the documents ready, proof of your genuine relationship, make sure you meet requirements for I-134, and you should be fine. And there is a lot of people here on VJ willing to help you :)

No worries and good luck :)

The petitioner will have to fill out the I-134 and send their supporting financial evidence, the co-sponsor will have to do the same. They will want evidence that between the petitioner and the co-sponsor that you meet the income requirements.

The co-sponsor has to make enough for his own current household (himself, spouse/significant other - if applicable, children - if applicable, dependent adults - if applicable), and the petitioner's household (petitioner, fiance, any dependent children - if applicable, any dependent adults - if applicable). So, for example, the co-sponsor has is married, with one child and a disabled parent whom lives with them, their household would be four. Say its you and just your fiance(e), then their household size would be 6, and they need to make enough money to support 6 people.
