Do I have to list a speeding ticket as a Crime/Conviction?

Approximately 8 years I got my first speeding ticket. Do I have to list this as a conviction?

Did you pay it? If its your first ticket in 8 years you can ask for deferred judication, which defers it being on your record for 90 days if you do not get in any more tickets or accidents it will not be on your record. You can also take defensive driving and it wont be on your record

It was 8 years ago that I got the speeding ticket, and, yes, I paid it.

I think speeding tickets are minor offenses.

Not sure what form you are filling out, but on the N-400 you do not need to list any speeding tickets if they are not DUI/Drug related and are under $300. That question always leads to a big debate among people though, I was lucky back when I was filling it out and I actually talked to someone from the USCIS on the phone (when they had real people) and they stated that. Then my IO also confirmed that I didn't need to disclose any tickets if they fell into the category I had just mentioned...
