Hi everyone,

What language did the Immigration Officer use when he/she was conducting the interview with your fiance or wife/husband in Kyiv?

Was your loved one required to speak in English at any point in the interview?

Thank you!

You do not need to know English at all. The consular officer speaks Russian pretty fluently (though with an accent). They can also speak Ukrainian. Everybody except the consular officer that actually conducts the interview (like security, person taking documents, telling you where to go, etc) are locals and speak Russian/Ukrainian.

Thank you everyone! Дякую

As info for others in the future, I was at the Embassy Interviewe w/ my now wife & daughter. Because I was there, they did pull me up to the window and ask me a few questions, just to alidate the petition. No big deal, but if you plan on attending, you might get asked questions as well.
