Notice of Action.

And the priority date is not the day you got it in the mail, it's a few days earlier usually.

I mailed my dad's petition on May 28, and the PD is May 29, for example.

My bad on that i typed too fast without even looking back at that time

and i've not been able to edit it since

I was about to write like this " The days before you get NOA1 "

Excuse my English , it's not my first language

It's ok, you don't have to apologize. I just wanted to clarify for the person that asked.

It is awfully early in the process, but what are the civil documents for A2A minor? I have very limited ways of getting the documents delivered to me (pretty much by hand only), so I would like to know earlier rather than later so I can plan on delivery.

Are they the same as, say, IR-5, minus police certificate and marriage certificate? Basically a child only has their birth certificate for documents anyway.

Yeah, for a child it's relatively painless since they don't need the police certificates, depending on the age, which are sometimes the hardest to get.

All other docs are about the same, BC, passport, medical, DS260, IV fee, etc.

Also I see that he was petitioned by your mom, is his dad listed on his birth certificate? Because he may need permission from the dad in order to exit the country and every country has different requirements for the travel of children.

Here is a link with required docs, the child would only need whatever applies to him:

If you filed form G1145 you should get a text/email in about a week, usually. The paper NOA1 you receive in the mail in about 2 weeks, usually.

If you see that 2 weeks pass by and you haven't received anything call them. Also if you sent a check you can check with your bank to see if it's been cashed. This will let you know that they have actually received and opened your petition envelope.

I'm sorry. I should have been more clear on my wording. It takes about a week from the day they receive the petition, not when you mail it, and two weeks for the paper copy. So you are still fine.

How did you mail the envelope? Does it have a tracking number? Because this way you could at least check if it was delivered.

As for the proof of LPR status, do not be concerned, the copy of the passport with the visa and stamp is the equivalent of the GC for all intents and purposes. This serves as proof of LPR status and it's perfectly valid proof for a petition.

So give it another week to receive text/email and/or check to be cashed, and another week after that to receive paper NOA1. If nothing after 3 weeks, call in.

You're welcome. Did you send it priority mail or did you just put stamps on it? Because priority mail automatically comes with tracking, it doesn't matter what day it was shipped.

If you bought the label online and it was priority mail, there should be a tracking number on the receipt.

If you just put regular stamps on it then ok, it won't have the tracking and regular mail takes about 3 business days to most places.

Thank you.. Hope to hear from them this week.. I mailed it through usps, no tracking number coz i dropped it on a sunday..

That's great. Since you should now have a case number, you can keep track of the case by signing up for case updates. Here is the link:
