Hi All,

Just today we received a packet from USCIS containing all the docs we submitted saying it was rejected. I am a K1 visa holder and i have my 19 mos old son with me as K2. The I-797 NOA says :

"You must sign your application in the signature block if you are 14 years of age or older. Your parent or guardian may sign their name in the signature block if you are younger than 14. Your signature or a parent's or guardian's signature in the "Signature of person preparing form, if other than above" is not valid signature for this purpose. Please sign and send the application with the correct fees to the address listed on the bottom of this page.

Now here are my questions: :crying:

1. How do I sign it for my son? Just write his name? Or do I need to add my name next to his? (I'm really confused  )

2. Is it okay if i will just reprint the "signature page" and then resubmit the rest of the documents even though it has all the USCIS markings on its right sides?

3. All the documents are returned and stapled in a different way by them. Do I need to remove the staples and then rearranged it the way I originally submitted it?

4. Do I need to change the "Date application filed" on the cover pages and other parts of documents?

Hope I hear from you guys. I lost my confidence after receiving the rejection notice. Just don't want to prolong the waiting since their customer service will not be able not until on Monday. :huh2:

Thanks a lot.

Sign your son petition like this using a black pen

Your name, comma and father or mother.

Example: If your name is John Doe,and your son name is Scott Doe, sign is petition like this:

Thanks a lot.

(1) You sign your name

(2) Refill the documents and resubmit. Do not use the old ones with the USCIS markings.

(3) Yes rearrange them as if you are submitting it for the first time.

(4) Yes change the date to reflect the present date it is filed. They did not accept the previous application and as such the old date cannot be used as you are no where in their system.

Don't worry; your application was not actually rejected it was unaccepted because it was incomplete and they returned it to be corrected. That's all. Write your son's name but sign on his behalf where his signature would go; they know that a baby cannot sign. Remember that you are not to sign in the section that is for lawyers or other qualified persons filling out the form on your behalf. Sign your name in the signature section instead of your son. Everything will work out just fine :energy: :energy: :energy: :energy:.
