football as a game is fine. sports are fine. but when we pay a bunch of athletes millions of dollars to play a game on t.v and elevate them to role model status it's just too much. are football players supposed to be america's moral elite or something?

..... are football players supposed to be america's moral elite or something?

Predominately young men in America (8-35) have always held sports figures in an almost god-like status. Fans would have their backs, and stand by them, protect them as if a comrade in arms. The people of earth have evolved a bit and some have actually freely and willingly spent a little time learning about domestic violence. People who abuse children are absolutely pathetic human beings. At an equal or worse level are those who turn their heads or openly excuse child or spousal abuse because in their twisted minds, their beloved sport or sports figure did nothing wrong. Why do they believe such hogwash? If there were a one-size fits all answer to that question, we should also consider to have discovered the missing link between neanderthal, and 'modern man.'

These issues popping up in the news the last few days are becoming muddled with talk from ignorants explaining how they beat their own children because it helps make them better people. They have no ability whatsoever to look objectively at Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, or other public figures and talk about it without injecting themselves into the conversation.

For both of these worthless douchbags, there is photo and video evidence that they committed heinous crimes. Crimes that were overlooked because of their public status. Crimes that were overlooked because their fan base is more interested in watching them play sport instead of seeing the crime and punishment that should be prescribed.

I am just amazed that Adrian Peterson has many children with different women.

Yeah. That information is now being discussed in today's news. Sweet Adrian Peterson considers the number of children that he's fathered to be a private matter. And, that makes sense. But, now that we know he's a cowardly child beater, his private conquests and behaviors will and should be scrutinized.

The statistics are easy to find and well documented that show over 70% of blacks born in America have no father in their life. With numbers that high, it's anyone's guess just exactly who is providing a moral compass in their lives.

72 Percent of African-American Children Born to Unwed Mothers

mom goes to pick up 13 year old daughter from a friend's house and 13 year old refuses to get in the car to come home. mom has verbal argument with her daughter and her daughter's friend, in which both young ladies say some very non-ladylike things to mom. daughter gets a little showoffy and calls mom a "f'in b" not more than one inch away from her mom's face. mom snaps and instantly slaps daughter across the face.

mom calls the cops to force her daughter into the car. when the cops arrive, the daughter tells the cops her mom slapped her. cop asks mom - did you hit her out of discipline or out of anger?

mom tries to explain that it was both, her daughter out of control and being ungrateful pushed her buttons.

cop again asks mom - listen real carefully, you have to answer one way or the other..discipline or anger?

mom gets it, answers 'discipline'

cops tells daughter to listen to her mother and get in the car.

what would have happened if mom had not gotten the cop's hint?

With numbers that high, it's anyone's guess just exactly who is providing a moral compass in their lives.

indeed, what are women thinking, attempting to raise children without a proper moral compass. <_<

The NFL needs to take this one right in the nuts. But, Ms. Diana does a good job addressing the topic.

People who think the NFL did a poor job investigating and punishing former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice are circulating a photo on the Internet that is turning the NFL’s partnership with CoverGirl on its head.
One of the photos from the Get Your Game Face On campaign, which originally showed a female model’s face with purple wings around her eyes, has been altered so that the makeup worn by the female model is trying to cover up a severe eye bruise that she presumably sustained during a domestic violence incident.
The photo went viral this past weekend on Twitter and, according to Jezebel, “was paired with the hashtag #GoodellMustGo,” a reference to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Goodell and the NFL came under fire in February for issuing a two-game suspension to Ray Rice for hitting his then-fiancee, Janay Palmer, in an elevator. When TMZ released footage in September that showed the entire incident—Rice is shown striking Janay’s face—Rice was cut from the Ravens and the NFL suspended him indefinitely.

Vikings Justification For Not Punishing Adrian Peterson Is Pathetic
It has been roughly twenty-four hours since the Minnesota Vikings first released its statement regarding running back Adrian Peterson. Written by the Minnesota Vikings public relations department, that statement includes the team’s official position that Peterson is expected to play this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. It also incorporates a statement from Vikings owners Zygi Wilf and Mark Wilf that reads, “we believe this is a matter of due process and we should allow the legal system to proceed so we can come to the most effective conclusions and then determine the appropriate course of action.”
Whether or not Adrian Peterson is deserving of punishment in the form of a suspension and/or fine by the Vikings is debatable. However, the use of “due process” and the entire maxim offered by the Minnesota Vikings is inherently flawed and outright confusing.
The State of Minnesota and U.S. Constitution include what are referred to as Due Process Clauses, which restrict the government from depriving an individual of life, liberty or property without due process of law. At their core, the Clauses each prohibit certain arbitrary, wrongful government actions, regardless of the fairness of the procedures used to implement them. The deprivation of any fundamental right must be accompanied by some compelling state interest where no less restrictive means to accomplish the goal is present.
It is a constitutional construct that bears no relation to the power or control that the Vikings have over Peterson and the discipline the team can implement against its running back.

Vikings great Fran Tarkenton 'embarrassed' by decision to allow Peterson to play
148ghdv.jpg
Hall of Fame quarterback Fran Tarkenton — perhaps the most recognizable Minnesota Viking in franchise history — is “embarrassed” by the team’s decision to allow alleged child abuser Adrian Peterson to play this upcoming Sunday.
Tarkenton, 74, told FoxNews.com that Peterson, who faces up to 2 years in prison if convicted on charges of reckless or negligent injury to his 4-year-old son, has no business being on the sidelines this weekend as his case makes its way through the legal system.
“I’m embarrassed,” Tarkenton said Tuesday. “And I was on the very first Vikings team that ever was. And I’m embarrassed.
“These are serious accusations,” Tarkenton continued. “And the only way you’re going to get the attention of an NFL player is to take away his paycheck and take him off the field. This is way above winning or losing a football game. I strongly disagree with the notion of playing him this week.”

Where is the Middle of the Road man?
