Hi,

After filing for adjustment of status and EAD, I receive today I-797C which instructs me to report to the US-CIS on a scheduled date and time for biometrics.

My husband has work outside of the state right now and he is not coming back till Nov. While the appointment date is Sep, is it okay for me to go there alone? I have looked for the address and I know the place.

My questions : Has any of you went through this procedure? Is the husband need to be present for the biometrics? Does this procedure include interview with both husband and wife?

Thanks everyone :)

It's really not an interview. All they will do is collect your fingerprints and take your photo. That's it. I went with my wife and children to their bio and was asked to sit in another room. When they finished, about 30 min. later, we left the building and I had no conversation with any authority except the guard at the entrance. So your husband would have no interview or conversation other than with the guard when he enters the building.

Yes, as mentioned above, it's perfectly ok to go alone. This isn't an interview, just a picture and your fingerprints. They would have specified it on the notice if your spouse was necessary, btw. Also be sure to bring whatever docs the notice says to bring with you.

This does not constitute legal advice.

Not an interview stage. Just fingerprints and photo.

No need for your husband to attend with you if he can't :)

Just make sure you attend the appointment, as I hear it causes delays to reschedule.

Good luck! :)

Yes you can go there alone, they are going to do the biometrics only that day, which you have done twice before already. No need for your husband to be there.
