Well, clearly some people do believe that this should be a crime. That's a crime in itself. No one should face jail time for an action that had no harmful consequences. No harm has arisen from this. People who find it offensive have not been harmed in any way, any more than they are harmed by the publication of books about wizards or shouting god is stupid. None of this is criminal behavior and none of this has a place in the criminal justice system. Essentially it is an anachronistic law that should be removed from the statutes.

Probably a slap on the wrist and a $25 fine. Forget the religious angle, was it considered a lewd public act? Was it anymore harmful than mooning someone? It has been blown way out of proportion.

you're forgetting the sex offender registry. sounds crazy, but it's a possibility (that goes for mooning too..)

Why are we always blaming the victim? Shouldn't Jesus be the one on the hot seat for doing that to a minor?

unfortunately nay a peep has been heard out of jesus. it's almost like he doesn't exist or something..oh well. maybe if we keep asking into the air for jesus give us his version of events, he'll eventually show up. maybe he'll even have something to say in his own defense.

The following facts should be parsed from this "That Kid Twern't From Mayberry" piece:

1. 14-year-old boy from Everett, Pa.
2. 14- year old boy recently posted naughty photographs of himself with a statue of Jesus
3. That image "somehow" made its way to the local district attorney’s office and all hell broke loose
4. His case will be heard in juvenile court. Conviction means up to two years in juvenile jail.
So, where's Momma? Where's Poppa? Perhaps the parents do not object to their son's behavior. They may even support it, or at least in part. Maybe momma and poppa were just too damned stupid to be paying attention to their son altogether? It's just Christian stuff anyway, so many of the Christians will be forgiving. Does the ten commandments have a clause or paragraph about posting photos online?

Horroriffica! Gigantica! Supercallafragilisticexpialidocious?!

I have been searching for this book of rules that is used in the US that explains the various levels of severity for defacing objects of religion like a cross, crucifix, Jesus, Mary, the prophet Mohammed, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Kim Kardashian, Nancy Pelosi, 0bama and the penalties associated.

I mean, can someone deface that stuff anywhere, anytime I want to and even bake disparaging images of mohammed inside a cake and give it to unsuspecting people of faith at work? Where does one find the, "I'm offended" line? Is there any difference in levels of severity to being offended?
