A Wednesday night gala to honor Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson probably didn’t go the way its honoree had planned.

Firstly, one of the dinner’s most high-profile guests, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, didn’t show up after a damaging new report came out alleging the NFL had received a copy of the Ray Rice tape that shows the ex-Raven punching his wife in the face.

Secondly, instead of just happily accepting the “Echo Award Against Indifference” from the Echo Foundation, an educational organization, Richardson felt compelled to address domestic violence, a subject that’s not only damaging Goodell’s reputation, but the entire NFL’s, as well, and Richardson personally.

In the wake of the controversy surrounding the Rice case and whether the NFL was privy to the infamous video, Richardson and the Panthers are dealing with their own drama in Greg Hardy, an active-roster player who was convicted of domestic violence over the summer. Neither the NFL nor the Panthers have penalized Hardy in any way, which has inspired much criticism. Richardson attempted to address that situation for the first time publicly during his acceptance speech and it brought him to tears. He said (via ESPN):

“Standing before you tonight, I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge an issue weighing heavily on our sport and our society. When it comes to domestic violence, my stance is not one of indifference. I stand firmly against domestic violence, plain and simple.

“To those who would suggest that we’ve been too slow to act, I ask that you consider not to be too quick to judge. Over the course of our 20 years, we have worked extremely hard to build an organization of integrity … I will work hard to continue to earn your trust.”

You know, things like: "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor", "Iraq has a stable government,", Osama Bin Laden is Dead and Al Quaida is on the Run." Stuff like that is what conservatives say. Conservatives tend to depend upon their illiterate followers who watch late night comedic talk shows for their political updates, focus hard and fast upon their college professor's ideology at the educational facility paid for by evil American taxpayers. It would be more helpful if conservatives followed literary rules, but they are just evil and need to be deported or put in jail.

About all you can get out of them is the annoying quality of defending the liberal's right to make a fool of themselves in public. Conservatives openly offer tissues, bandaids, cocktails, and if the whiny lib is from Colorado or an American northwestern state, they will offer them a quality joint to smoke like a peace pipe. It never seems to matter much to conservatives when libs scream loudly in small places and whine about being offended. Conservatives always offer them a bowl of soup and a knapkin just the same.

This forum is largely liberal and may be intimidated by five-syllable words. It's best to keep your sentences confined to a fog index of less than 15 words all less than two syllables. Pictures are helpful keeping them on point, but they are known to get distracted by sweet foods and shiny objects.

Your ability to create a list is admirable. However, remember to focus and learn the meaning of Rino. True conservative names are much too hard for you to pronounce and write today. But, keep at it as it is encouraging to everyone to watch you learn.
