Last night's dinner plans was mussels and tuna kinilaw. We also had a business meeting with a vendor scheduled at 5:00PM, so we planned to make dinner after they stopped by, the business should not have taken more than 45 minutes. The guy called me at 4:30 to say he's coming, and then didn't arrive until 6:15. We could of made and ate dinner before he arrived. So hungry we get down to business, both thinking we hope this doesn't take long. Well the guy just wants to go on and on about old stories from like 50 years ago from this part of town, I swear the guy was 70 years old. Whole process drags out for about an hour and 15 minutes, pushing the clock to 7:30 and still we haven't eaten dinner.

Wife starts to get dinner ready, tuna has already been soaking, turns out we need cucumber and onions, so I quickly go to run to the grocery store and the old fart is still in the drive way so he decides to get out and start chatting again. I give him a couple minutes and cut him off, I'm friggen hungry and I don't have time. I get the needed items and rush back home to have my wife announce the mussels we just got from the Asian Grocery are bad. They have this practice of taking live seafood and freezing it after it dies to sell as frozen seafood. Which course that means its gone bad already. Previously they never did this with mussels, just crabs and a couple other things we've learned not to buy from them. So now we have kinilaw and rice but no main dish. So I run out to the local chinese food place to pick up some pancit. Dinner was finally ready about 8:15, way too late for us to be eating dinner.

Pissed off at the doddering old fool who showed up and hour and 15 minutes late and then acted like he had all the time in the world. Don't think they're getting our business. Pissed off at cheap azz Asian grocery stores that sell spoiled food. Together they worked to totally screw my plans last night. I really need to contact the health department and report that Asian grocery store for knowingly repackaging and selling spoiled food.

Boxers are senile.....

Frenchy must have a phat butt......

1 Its actually not common for a boxer to bite someone they know. I'd guess there's something wrong with him.

But I thought your husband was out of town a lot. That would leave the running of the dog to you. And yes, they probably would be a lot more personable than a Weimaraner. But every dog has its own attitude besides what the breed is known for. Just make sure you teach it early that it is not a lap dog. Another dog that might be good is a Boxer.

I like pugs, also.

they get messy in their later years, so be prepared.

Cary - re , the vendor - if'n it was me, with a vendor arriving late, I would have told him to reschedule for another day. That's it, no further stuff. re: mussels - those are needed for a night of fun - so I am guessing your night of fun didn't happen either. Drats and curses..

I suddenly remember that even the best Malay cook in town still sends money back to 'support the family',

so I withdraw my offer of matrimony.

Fun was already preempted by a monthly reminder. I don't need mussels to be ready for a night of fun
