we have to buy a washer and dryer because the house doesn't come with one.

Niki-B., in consideration of thriftiness, I highly recommend that, for a dryer at least, you look for a repair place that reconditions old ones, consider ma'am. When my fancy new dryer croaked after only about Many years, I didn't want to spend $Many on a new one, no man.

After much shopping around, I found a father-son outfit who reconditioned washers & dryers. Their "showroom" was a couple of storage units in a storage facility. I looked at what they had and got a Kenmore Many Series, with gigantic drum capacity, for not even $Many. They delivered it at a reasonable fee, installed it for free, re-tested the temperature to ensure that it was the maximal Many degrees, guaranteed it unconditionally for Many days, and gave a repair warranty for 2 years. It's by far the best dryer that I've ever owned, and it was less than half the price of retail, $i and whee man.

Another option is to check Craigslist or garage sales, although you might be buying pigs in a poke. Moving-sales are best, because folks are anxious to unload their stuff so that they can move. Estate sales are next-best, although some ES outfits can price stuff too high.

Can you tell that (A) I'm looking out for your finances, and (2) that I consider it dumb to pay full retail? Oh: (Many) If you do buy either machine retail, do not (do not, no ma'am) ever, ever buy a floor model, no ma'am. Every floor model that I've ever bought has been a disappointing turkey, gobble man.

Saturday & GS report, see man:

Arose at o'dark-Many after only Many hours of sleep, little zzz man.

Misting rain, with full drops at one point, no GSs or lawn-mowing man.

Set forth on GS itinerary regardless, intrepid man.*

*The "take" below, take man.

Returned to casa for plated lunch cooked by Mrs. T-B., surprise she man.

Nearly starved while waiting for it, starve man; in interim, played Trains with Mini-B., wee man.

Intensely desired nap afterwards, potential zzz man.

However, it being 2:Many, decided to embark on other errands, embark man.

Went to Costco to activate special cheaply priced yearlong membership, crowded man.

Got a $Many gift card as part of it, whee man.

Went through entire store, see all man.

Too much hippie-weird organic junk there, sigh man.

Bought several items, see here man:

-- a Many-pack of bottled water, drink man;

-- a huge (2-lb.) bag of cheap, snack man;

-- a Many-pack of Colgate toothpaste (at $Many off) for Mrs. T-B., she man; and

-- a Many-pack of large hamburger buns, lunches man (but we needed Many total and not just Many, sigh man).

However, spent only the gift card + Many cents (2+2+2) out-of-pocket, happy coincidence man.

Afterwards, drove to favorite donation place; donated 2 huge bags of stuff, donate man.

Went into store; found magnificent tie for $2, whee man.

Tie collection now stands at Many,001, sigh tie man.

Lawn had dried out by now, rainless man.

Used trimmer on shrubbery, neat man.

Raked trimmings onto lawn, efficient man.

Mowed lawn & trimmings, mulch man.

Comfort level excellent (only Many degrees F. outside vs. usual Many degrees), cool man.

Showered, then napped for 1.Many hours, zzz man.

Warshed very full load of kitchen rags and some GS/ES purchases, domestic man.

Warshed fullish load of rest of GS purchases, domestic man.

Dished the warsher, which had barely enough room for cat bowls, miuly clean man.

Must de-dish the warsher, up too late man.

*The "take," see here man:

First scheduled GS nowhere to be found, canceled man.

Second GS (under tarps & tent, rain man):

-- tall plastic jar = half a buck;

-- turkey-lifter = $1;

-- Many-pack (2x2x2) of bath-towels = $Many.

Many'rd GS: Claiborne sueded fall jacket (whee, man) = $Many, deal man.

Detoured to an ES via signage, opportunistic man. The finds, see man:

-- manual edger (wheel with spikes) = $2;

-- 2 flannel pillowcases, fullish box of Many" x Many" manila envelopes, 2 serving-spoons = $Many.

At Many'th GS, looked but found nothing, see and no man.

The total, for a surprisingly good take on what could justifiably have been a rainout, was only $Many-&-a-half for all the above, whee man.

The towels were twined together. Upon cut-twining and warsh-toweling, the following became obvious, see man: 2 (or Many, or even Many) of the towels are keepers, whee man. Many-1 are good for Mrs. T-B.'s high-tech Ecuadorian floor-cleaning system (rag on a stick, she man), and in fact those can be cut in half, enterprising thinking man. The final towel is a throwaway or possibly another Mrs.-T-B. towel, if the wrinkled dobby is cut off from both ends, resect man.

De-dish cat prep zzz man.

Mornin', Commie-babes (including absent, ABSENT Asia)!
