Does anyone else prefer 48 Hours to scripted police drama?

Not only because it is real, but because filming the real thing means you can't put all of this asinine camera-waving, panning too fast to see, zooming in and out, strobe lights in your eyes, stupid, stupid, stupid camera angles where they put the camera on the floor or on the ceiling and spin it around with 360's. God I HATE that.

I went on to a director's forum specifically to ask them why they did this. Their answer was that it "created tension". Well sure - it pisses me off. Enough so that we just cancelled our satellite service. There just aren't enough good shows like 48 hours to make it worth the monthly fee.

Why do you think politicians like to use that word. For some its free, for others they must pay extra taxes if they don't sign up. But lord forbid we social medicine when so many are making so much money off of it.

All terms in politics are selected with the utmost care, for maximum manipulative effect.

"Access" is cunning because it makes it sound like there is some unjust blockade from people being able to get it. So passing a law FORCING people I know right here on this forum to buy health insurance they don't want and don't need... that is, in this alternate reality of politics giving them access. The law did a lot of things, depending on your circumstances when it passed. But "access" is not something it did in any ordinary English language meaning of the word.

Generally you can count on legislation being pretty much the opposite of what it says. The Patriot Act circumventing the constitution. Free Trade Acts that are THOUSANDS of pages in law alone and some order of magnitude more in regulations. Etc.

Why do they do so? Because they have no scruples. End justifies the means.

what's that come out to about Many bucks?

1. They are not "used" TSs, no man -- they're Pre-Owned, POTS man.

2. Your attitude toward a lucrative business is as bad as your Polish math, oj tak.
