The pack to a dog consists of the leader of the pack and anyone the leader of the pack allows to stay. If you were the leader of her pack before, then she's packless today until some one or some dog takes over the pack leadership position. They really don't care about all the dogs that are not the leader, they can come and go.

I did not know that. So is it safe to assume that I am her leader since every time anyone tells her to do something she looks at me ? Or when someone pets her she looks to me not at them ? And she won't sleep anywhere else but with me by the bed ? And she won't growl at me if i move her but will growl at everyone else ?

yes, you were her leader. So now she'd be re-establishing herself back into whatever new pack is being formed, with whoever is the new leader. Dogs are remarkably resilient in that regard. But she'd do the you're not dead dance if you showed up again.

oh yay. God when they were leaving I cried for her too...I was going to let her sleep outside and she kept scratching the door.....it is heartbreaking ! If they left her here I think I would not be able to not take her.

I didn't bring a snack, only lunch. And the machines don't take 20's, which is all I have at the moment. Otherwise I'd be getting myself a cinnamon roll.
