MIL still thinks ex hubs should apologize to me and smooth things over .....she also thinks that while he is on vacation with them in VT as I type this, and I live in the guest room and I am not taking him with me....we are in a good marriage and there are no problems - except the apology he should make no matter what it is.

J don't feel bad. That family and you were not meant to be. I know but accepting it is apparently still an issue..

I think as a mother when you have a troubled child, you tend to enter into a state of denial or delusion to protect your own sense of self worth as a parent and because you just can not see them for the failure they are. You can't blame her for coming to incorrect conclusions when neither of you has told her that you were filing for divorce (which I totally get why you did).

I saw such homes in the US as well and I wondered how are they heated.

I think as a mother when you have a troubled child, you tend to enter into a state of denial or delusion to protect your own sense of self worth as a parent and because you just can not see them for the failure they are. You can't blame her for coming to incorrect conclusions when neither of you has told her that you were filing for divorce (which I totally get why you did).

I suppose I see your point. It just seems that she is in denial about way too many things, it is not good for anyone - besides....I am sorry but not realizing there is a problem if the wife moves next door seems slightly beyond your usual denial.

It is kind of funny as she had never asked me directly anything....she asked ex hubs and FIL (like he would know..) but she would not come up to me probably because, as you say, she did not want to know the truth and on some level she must have known I won't make up stories.

Anyways...life goes on.

One of the owners here had his son talk him into a droid phone. He can hardly use the dang thing, and is constantly screwing it up. The other owner got an iPhone, and does all kinds of things with it and never has trouble with it. The salesman here got an iPhone and can't do anything with it accept make phone calls. I once pointed out the map capabilities and he was shocked it had maps, even with the icon right on the first screen. Seriously the sales guy once accidentally went to screen 2 and thought someone had hijacked his iPhone. Some people really shouldn't have more than a flip phone.

I haven't looked into them enough to know how they're being heated in a northern climate. I'd assume they insulate them though as part of finishing the inside.

She still does not know we are divorced...she sure will figure it out , hoping, in a couple of weeks (they left today for their vacation). FIL knows. He ain't dumb. He knew something was up when I moved next door and spent my days cycling and with the dogs.

He will have to say sooner or later, especially if she's doing his taxes.

Cause he no longer would be able to fill as married filled jointly/separately.

Made him aware of that.

You know my husband and I have slept in separate rooms for most of our marriage? My clothes aren't even in our master bedroom. *shrugs* I don't think it is that unusual that people want their personal space.

ya know, I thought I got all of my crying done and over during 2 to 7 September. recently, as the divorce filing date is fast approaching, I am mush at times I cannot afford to be mush. gotta cry, gotta get it out, but man, I do feel better after hitting the gym on campus. it's not the global fix - I know i'll be devastated after the divorce is finalized, but it is what it is... nothing I can change about it - if there's any hope for this marriage, well, she has to stand up and exist in it. Don't see that happening, atm...
