The visa app was received on Dec 28, 2013. On Aug 29, 2014 they received my affidivit of support. As of yesterday they are telling me if will take 60 days to process that. Then another 60 days to process the next phase which is my spouses criminal record, copies of marriage cert and proof of marriage. They say this will take ANOTHER 60 days. Then if all goes well we wait for the appointment at the embassy in Bogota. At this point the Spousal Visa process is looking like it will take approx 13-14 months. WHAT BS!!!!! I am so GOD*** pissed off and embarrassed at the inefficiency of my country. What are other Spousal visa applicants experiencing???

A&B if you are going to move then send a link to where exactly it is at! Don't just move it...

These processing times are very normal and everyone else is in the same situation. You'll be experiencing a lot of rage if that is your reaction to the process. Hopefully some recent changes at NVC will speed things up a bit, but either way it is a long, frustrating process.

There is always a link from the original post in the original forum that takes you to the new location and shows that it was moved.

The best advice anyone can give you here is to read the NVC filers thread, especially the first post and read the wiki that walks you through the process step by step and has updated and reliable time frames.

I am the USC Petitioner. My wonderful wife Laura is from Scotland.

The moderator moved your post to the right location of what topic your post should be in. No link to send you about other visas.

Are you actually adjusting status in the states, going through all just USCIS? Or are you actually at NVC?

EDIT: Actually, see your timeline now.. guessing you are at NVC. You're not the only one getting messed about here.. go to the NVC filer thread and just look for updates and etc, -> Link is there. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/512491-nvc-filers-september-2014/

Yeah, every stage is taking 60 days. Most of us got a letter from NVC explaining it. Totally sucks.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

What's chapping my ### is this NVC leg of the process usually took 2 weeks and you could combine your Aff of Support with the civil docs and make both payments at the same or similar time. And they reviewed them both out in 4 weeks, 2 weeks for each part. Now 2 months for each part and they have completely seperated it. Plus another month to get he appointmen at your embassy to get it issued. This is Absolutely HORSES**T!!!! So now its another 5 mfing months. What country are we living that us as citizens get jerked around like this. I feel like I am in the securtiy check line at JFK airport that does not move and ever baby and grandmother is getting stripped searched!!!

I totally understand your frustation. However take a look again at the NVC website. They are changing the whole process. You can send both pkgs in at the same time. My advice is not to listen to everything the NVC operators tell you, half of them don't have a clue about this process. I wish you and all of us the best.

You can't file a K1 visa if you're married... So that is an incorrect suggestion? Unless you are saying they should have waited to get married? Spousal visas actually have advantages over the K1 even though they generally take longer.

To the OP. Just be patient. You're not the only one waiting this long. My husband and mine's NVC process took over two months and that was without the NVC being slow. So far we are a year and a half into this. It will happen and you will move forward.

Thanks for all the comments. I am feeling a bit better today. Just got off the phone with NVC. They informed me the IV fee statement to pay is being setup and will be ready Monday/Tuesday to pay. They informed me if I want I can go ahead and send in the

spouses

-passport bio page

-orig Birth cert

-orig marriage cert

-cert police record

-two passport photos.

Even though all of those docs except for the police report and passport photos were included in the original I-130 docs. NVC shows no record they were transferred over. NVC's advise was to resend them so it does not slow the process down of having to request them from Nebraska which originally processed the I-130. She said it should take a total of 30-45 days more. Please advise me if there are any other docs that need to be included with the DS 260 form. I would hate to forget something. Thanks...James

What date did they NSC ship your file to the NVC?
