HI,

CEAC has updated my case today to 'ready' from 'in transit'. I have already had my medical, submitted my DS-160, submitted my readiness form and have all my interview paperwork in order.

Is it correct that I now wait to see the CEAC website change from 'ready' to 'case updated' and then give the NVC a call for my interview date?

Regards

NVC doesn't know your interview date. At least they have told others that once they ship your file out, they know nothing further. People used to call DOS, but they quit answering questions in January. As far as I know you wait for a letter and guess what each updated date might mean in your CEAC. "Did they assign an interview because it changed?" "Does it mean they mailed my letter"? "Does it mean they just found my medical that arrived before my case"? So many options to guess.

Thanks for the reply.

The only issue I have is I have moved address since January. The new address was on the DS-160 but the old address is on the i-129f so I am a little unsure if I will indeed get the letter. Any further advice?

The I-129F was USCIS. That is kinda over really. Now you are with the Department of State and they will use their database to pull up your address based on their form DS-160. (DS for Department of State. Get it?) So there shouldn't be any worries really. But the visa stress is keeping you from being logical, right? So wait at least 2 weeks because they don't do an overnight turn around. Then contact them here and mention your concerns about your address. I changed address between petition and visa with the new address on the DS-160 but the old address on the i-129 and they sent the appointment to the new address. No worries. I did use the website to send the embassy a message as I was nervous about it asking if I needed to do anything else but they said I don't need to worry as the address they had was my new address. Don't worry it will be fine.
