Web camera vs phone

Most of us probably have web camera and most of us use it to talk to our other half ( not to mention it's free too) So why do we need to call each other and waste money when we can talk through web camera and see each other at the same time and save money. I printed our MSN, ICQ, and our Skye conversations with OUR pictures in there. Do you think it's good enough or do we really have to start calling each other more often. WE do call but rarely since we spend hours talking through the web camera. All the calling cards that i ever bought i threw it out because i had no idea i had to save them as an evidence.

any replies are greatly appreciated.

thanks

In my opinion either will work. I personally think chat logs with a screen capture of you and you significant other on cam is better than a phone log. JMHO, Ken & Maria

the only thing is, the chat log doesn't have dates and you can't install them :(

also, if i used to purchase calling cards online, can i print my credit card statements where it'll show the proof of purchase?

You are fine with the documents you have. For our K1, we printed the messenger archives and sent them as proof. along with some phone card records, when using a phone card make sure you can get a call archive from them, in my case within 15 days we were able to get them. I didn't want to be burdersome, I would order just 1 or 2 archives for each month.

the thing is: we rarely talk on the phone, it's all on the web camera, so i wouldn't be able to archive our phone conversations besides......how will they know that this number that i dialed ( from the calling card) was actually a calling card and not just a number i called to speak to my friends and etc? there is really no proof of that, because the calling cards that i usually buy have my local area code as where to dial it.

There are some higher priced phone cards that you can print your call log...

I use yahoo chat and another dial around company that gives me pretty good rates and the rates are the same for cell or landline... plus they bill you monthly..the link is in my signature...

I save our conversation each time. Windows records the creation date in the file's properties. For the file name, I also use the date. For example, the file name from last night's conversation is "Jan 23, 2006". They're all in a separate folder and it is easy to manage that way.

I also set Messenger to timestamp every line (Tools > Options > Messages). I use this information to periodically update an Excel spreadsheet showing the date and time of each conversation, along with monthly total conversations, hours:minutes, and total transcript pages (in RTF). I hoping to use that summary as the initial item to show the CO before the transcripts themselves. We have >2,000 pages of transcripts now and I only plan to print out a few but have the rest on CD.

I'll be glad when this stuff is over so that I can get back to having a life again!

When sending all of those proves as an ongoing relationship, how far back do i have to print our chat logs? I have never saved them before, it's only now when i joined this site i realized that everything is an evidence and the more the merrier. I have some chats from December but nothing before that. Any suggestions?

On my yahoo.. and msn . I have a option to save conversations.. and.. also in preferences there is a option to show timestamp.... .. so not only in the saved conversation does it record the date that we talked but it saves it with the time we talked.....

sometimes it interesting re-reading it.. and seeing how some conversations are sooo timegapped... augh.. yahoo/msn lag... or.. kids interrupting . hehehe. .. validates how sometimes the messenger can be sooo frustrating instead of how the phone is more reliable...

The phone card I used had the number the calls were made, my phone number, cell phone and the number from the foreign country. Like you said with webcam you may not have a transcript but what ever you have will work, Like I'll meet you online on webcam on this and this date, if it's messenger it does have a transript also once you set it up.
