Wow, I have written invitation letters for 7 people in Thailand, some family(in-laws) some friends of my wife and I... All have been approved for 10 year multi visas... 1 of them had been denied previously and with my letter he was approved... So yes it does make a difference and shows they have a support network in the USA...

Are you suggesting that your letters got everyone approved?

I wrote a letter too and my then girlfriend was denied.

It does not make a difference. Your family members may have gotten the visa regardless. In fact, by having a "support network" the Consulate can deem you "at risk" to stay. It is not as simple as you make it. In fact, it annoys me that those that receive their visas say how "easy" it is because they were accepted and that they know the "secret". There are no formulas for getting a tourist visa. Many "qualified" people are and will be denied regardless of evidence/letters.

Take one with you to the interview. l took mine and he read it. Also, if you do get approved, take the invite letter when you travel.

l visited USA 2 months ago and the passport guy asked what i did in england. l told him i was unemployed then told him my gf

was supporting me and i showed him my invite letter of support.

Wondering if the invitation letters you'd written and given to your family members were ACCEPTED and REVIEWED? (Physically handed to the CO)

Simply curious because I found nothing on the US Embassy Thailand website mentioning letters of invitation. Perhaps it's embassy specific. It is after all ultimately up to the CO on the day of the interview whether to accept/review ANY documents and issue a visa or not.

Speaking only for the US Embassy Manila, their website specifically states that letters of invitations are only for business applications. I wish they had similar accommodations.

You are from the UK. they reject less than a 1 percent of visa applications.
