I repeat: it is time to get PISSED OFF.

I'm gay and I came out during the early days of the AIDS crisis. I came out with a vengeance, as they said at the time, getting active in the fight against AIDS right away. I was active in ACT UP. If you don't know, it stands for the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power. And they did. They were vilified by many for direct action and anger, but they made permanent changes among other things to the FDA approval process for new drugs that have probably saved hundreds of thousands of lives over the years since. But what they taught us was that if no one cares, which at the time they didn't--Reagan was directly complicit in the murder of many gay men by his inaction--you must ACT UP.

Does anyone really feel like we are not justified in not getting angry about how we and our families are being treated by our own government?

Now someone come up with an acronym as catchy as ACT UP for us.

But explain to me please about the e-mail, I'll come out and say it I'm paranoid this process has made me so and I don't want to do anything they can use against us since my husband being Muslim is a mountain we have to try to get over to begin with. Soloenta is right! NVC operators lie!

I don't think I need to mention this again, but they don't work on weekends!

Some NVC agents lie to us by telling us what we want to hear in order to end the call!

I don't know how they sleep at night. (Maybe that's why they sleep at work?)

Good one, I just made a comment on the website too. NVC is a complete waste of time, its better they delete NVC from this immigration process and allow beneficiaries go with the documents to the interview. SMH for NVC

Well, the facebook page has deleted the comments few VJers posted minutes ago. It says they are wrapping up third month of their contract for visa support services for the department of state: do you think change of companies is what has caused our delay? I have been at NVC since April and still no end in sight. So it makes me feel that Serco (the previous company) didnt wanna touch my case, because they already knew they dont have the contract and timely processing didnt matter to them anymore. Then FCi Federal took over and they didnt know what to do with my case- being new at the job and learning curve, etc... What do yall think?

I'm clueless I can't think anymore to be honest, but I can say that a lot if not all of the same reps are still there with some new ones added in. Sometimes a company will hire from the there to avoid gaps but who really knows.

Cross your fingers. I just spoke to a producer at MSNBC (Rachel Maddow Show) and pitched a story to her about the delays. She said she couldn't promise anything, but if they didn't run with it she would pitch it to other shows.

WOW well bless your heart thank you so much no matter what happens. I think the whole bunch of Democratic rats (I'm a Dem ) are all to blame, wont even comment on the Republicans worthless bunch of idiots. I'm also very concerned with the power given the counlors at the Embassies, they hold our life and future in their hands. (L)

I am so excited. Case Complete as of today. It seems like EP worked for us. We had scan dates of AUG 6 and Sept 4. They did them all together. I had heard of one case where that happened but didn't expect it.

Sooooo Happy.

We have been very lucky to have a rather short time for our visa processing (sent to California and EP processed together). I know that many of you have been waiting for a very long time. I am so grateful for all of your help and kindness. Thank you and God bless you as your journey continues. I will continue to spend time here cheering you on.

Am so sorry my dear friend, I wish there's something we can do to put a stop to this nightmare but obvious its only God that can intervene for us. When I called around 10am, I asked for Silvia and the rep put me on hold, the rep relate Silvia's message to me on the phone that Silvia said its Octavio that is in-charge of my case file, I guess that was why she didn't want to speak with me directly because she's not in-charge of my case file.

I think you should call early on Monday morning, I guess she'll want to speak with you directly since she's in charge of your case file. God will surly see us thru this NVC madness.

Thank you so much my friend and I will call on Monday for sure, God willing all will go well. Yes I think they can't take the files given to another supervisor but Octavio is a good one so we are both lucky there.

It is so very sad that a citizen of the country that is a pillar for equality, diversity, and democracy would even think this way. But to be quite open with all of you on VJ, the same thought has passed through my mind. Yes, this is what USCIS and NVC reduced us to, paranoid folk, some of us married yet living alone, some of us unable to enjoy the warmth a family holiday brings, because we carry the pain of a mother who is old, alone, across seven seas and eight lands.

Phew atleast I saw one case complete on fb with aug 6 scan date. How I wish they had just some sense and put up and seperate department and queue for checklist. This is the retardest system I have ever came across with! SMH

It is so very sad that a citizen of the country that is a pillar for equality, diversity, and democracy would even think this way. But to be quite open with all of you on VJ, the same thought has passed through my mind. Yes, this is what USCIS and NVC reduced us to, paranoid folk, some of us married yet living alone, some of us unable to enjoy the warmth a family holiday brings, because we carry the pain of a mother who is old, alone, across seven seas and eight lands.

Hubby said he received a voice mail from Octavio saying we have a case complete. He just called NVC and the rep confirmed that we have a Case complete.
