And yet another one on fb sent their AOS and IV on aug 11 (they don't know the scan date) and they recieved a checklist regarding 'fee payment'. They had not payed their IV fee. Can it mean their AOS was already approved! We are yet to find out In the morning!!

Am equally waiting to hear his response, maybe one of his family member works at NVC or he got help from his Senator/Congress man or his related to the president.

Honestly I think some of us should start considering working at NVC. Not as a phone rep but as a reviewer or supervisor so we all can help our family and friends with a faster review.

That would actually be great. But I think I read somewhere that the phone representatives and the supervisors are not allowed to talk about those cases to each other! So those who are lucky among us and who go to a supervisor from VJ will make the most out of it

It's official... I had a Hat-trick today... third AP in as many consecutive visa applications !!!!

Had the most grueling interview today. Arrived at the embassy at 12:30 and left at 3:00 pm. The CO interview alone lasted over an hour and a half !!! Half way through the interview the CO was about to reject the application citing a missing requirement from the petition (a tenure-track job offer). I had to painstakingly convince him that he was citing the requirements of the wrong visa category altogether. Once that was squared away, I had to walk him through my 14-page petition letter and all the evidence contained in it which exceed the requirements of the correct petition category. Glad I had a duplicate of everything I submitted... it was like one of my lectures... CO said as much jokingly at the end.

At the end, we reached a compromisee that I provide a fresh letter from CU-Boulder that they are expecting my arrival and are providing their research facilities for my use (received a 221(g) letter detailing this request). I had a formal letter to that effect from CU-Boulder, but the CO wanted a reaffirmation !!!

So drained now... I need to rest before I contact CU-Boulder.

They could do anything they like and there is no possible legal recourse. AP is the dreaded Administrative Processing which could last weeks or years in some cases.

The good news is, he asked for a specific document which I already acquired today and will be delivered to the embassy by noon.

The bad news is, the CO could still get back at me for daring to quote for him USCIS regulations and pointing out that he was looking at the wrong section of the rulebook. Kind of bringing a basketball rule book to coach a football team.

We'll know soon enough, I guess. If I get denied, it would be another USCIS/NVC/Consulate round, I'm afraid.

Wife is just too furious for words. I'm just moving on while re-evaluating my options as I go.

I emailed CU-Boulder before I went to bed with the CO's request, and woke up this morning with the requested supporting letter already in my mailbox. GO C U !!! as we used to chant during CU's football games ages ago. I'll hand-deliver the letter to the embassy later this morning.

I know some would disagree with me on this one, but elected reps have no business intervening for individual cases. If they see injustices going on they should intervene to fix the system as a whole and/or make incompetent agency planners account for their failings. The reason I say this is, far too often in less transparent systems of government, this practice can easily morph into a situation where no one will get justice without some rep intervening on their behalf and reaping some kind of payback, financially or at the ballot box.

At that moment, nothing else really mattered and I trusted the next day will bring its own mix of news. Sure enough, I was woken up by an email ping on my phone around 4:30 in the morning with the CU-Boulder supporting letter. I usually wake up at that time anyway to tend my garden before the school run.

What a great attitude. You are right, it all gets put into perspective. Another one who gets up at 4.30 in the morning. I am also up at that time to drive my son to swimming training but I do admit that I go to bed early.

Great news about getting the letter so quickly. After dealing with NVC I am always amazed now when organisations do things quickly. NVC have tarred me. Get that letter down to the Embassy and let's get this all sorted out as soon as possible.

Someone on fb got a case complete with scan date of aug 12!!! hold on the surprise doesn't end here.... Nvc actually called them to say u have a case complete! :wow:

Why can't we have this kind of luck? I'm happy for them but would like the same thing everyone else gets without all the BS!
