Well last night I was thinking out this whole scenario. NVC started implementing the 60 day thing mid July and I think they delayed a lot of the invoices then too, which could have caused lesser packages to be mailed....since people kept on waiting for the invoices to become available prior to sending out the package.

So maybe they are getting through to the review faster because less packages were received

Ok I need to clearly stop this imagination of mine, the only true explanation could be that the workers are finally awake and are actually getting some work done.

Hello and welcome!

My signature and timeline should hopefully tell you quite a bit. My case was expedited at USCIS and was approved on July 10th and then it took around a month to submit the first "form" (DS-261) to NVC on Aug 13th. I then paid the AOS fee on Aug 14th and sent my documents the following week. I sent both the AOS and IV documents together and waited from Aug 13th to today to receive the IV fee. Therefore, i've only been at NVC since the end of July. I now need to wait "at least 60 days" from my last scan date (Sep 3rd) before a checklist or case complete.

I hope that helps somewhat.

Best wishes!

.

You helped out alot!! Thank you, wish you good luck! Hope i have a process as smooth as yours.. Its the best timeline i have seen...

Thanks, Tavotevi. That's probably because i'm only early in the process. Unfortunately, NVC likes to hand out checklists (that add 60 days) for very small reasons so it might not always look this smooth sailing.

My husband is being "removed" from my country (UK) in a couple of weeks for no reason other than I used to be a US resident and the UK thinks I can move back. My 5 year old daughter and I are heartbroken but if i'm lucky with the rest of the process we should all be reunited by January (I hope).

Be sure to fill out your signature and keep your timeline up to date. Also, feel free to complain and share your thoughts. The people in this thread are quite lovely :luv:

Isn't it awful that we are forced to daydream about NVC and not something wonderful??!! ARGHH

I'm not sure if you saw a few days ago, but I received an email from NVC that was from a contractor. I'm wondering if the contractor has helped to speed things up. Maybe their employees have come in and started kicking butt. Now i'm daydreaming about NVC! :ranting:

I was thinking about the same thing.

People were waiting for the IV fee invoice so they weren't sending their IV packages.

Now more people are sending their IV packages with the AOS cover letter...

Well, think positive! They may hire additional reviewers soon since they've raised the AOS and IV fees.

Ok spoke to Ivy who gave her name as Abby at first (confused me) she insisted my AOS was all messed up hahaha but I told her Don said it was accepted 08/10 and I asked Ivy to please speak to a supervisor who later found out is Mary. Mary said all is good documents are under review and should have CC soon and AOS accepted. I asked if they could remove that, it's only confusing the Reps and she said it will be. So only God in heaven knows. :D No CC for me which is fine doesn't make me happy but what are you going to do. :D

I remember your initial AOS package contained errors so you fixed the application and sent the corrected one a week later.

I think they initially gave you a checklist; then, they received your corrected AOS application a week later and accepted your AOS package. :star:

Maybe that's confusing them> They're probably thinking that it usually takes 45-55 days for them to receive a checklist document after a checklist being issued. Maybe they're too dumb to realize that you sent the corrected AOS application before the checklist? Maybe the reviewer who reviewed your corrected AOS application didn't write a note in your file?

I really hope this is your week, Soloenta! You've been waiting for this too long! Fingers crossed!

called to check up on my IV fee status and got great news! DS 261 was reviewed two days ago so I should get the fees soon!!! Maybe the sleeping giant is finally awake hahaha

I have a question i asked in the main NVC thread, ill put it here. I asked the rep who should I mark the package attention to, he said whatever is on the AOS sheet, which is attention CMS. But the NVC site shows attention DR with this new process update.

So am a bit confused now. Anyone who just got the IV fees invoiced, what does your document sheet show?

This is from the NVC site

Method 3: Mail processing

If neither Method 1: Email processing nor Method 2: Choice of processing applies to your case, mail your financial forms and evidence, supporting documents, translations, and photocopies, with the Document Cover Sheet included with your NVC Welcome Letter, to the following address:

National Visa Center

Attn: DR

31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

Very nice congratulations so happy for you. :)

Last scan date july 24th, fee changed to NA

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CONGRATULATIONS SO VERY HAPPY FOR YOU.

I had my IV fee issued today and the IV bar-coded cover states this address:

National Visa Center

Attn. CMR

31 Rochester Avenue Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

I sent my IV package before I got the fee and I put CMR/DR (civil documents inside).

My package arrived perfectly on Sept 11th.

Now I am waiting for DS260 becomes available. I think by tomorrow. I will submit it then. Will it be my last scan date or the Iv package one?

Wonderful your well on your way. :) soon you'll be out of here. ;)

No Case Number yet

Eager to get started...

Awww be patient it will come soon :) We'll wait with you. (F) (L) (F)

Nice one :D I don't think I'd be happy if someone was waiting over 70 days, it'd be best if I remain the super-awesome-mega-invoice-waiter. Where do I get my trophy? :D

Maybe the reviewer who reviewed your corrected AOS application didn't write a note in your file?

I really hope this is your week, Soloenta! You've been waiting for this too long! Fingers crossed!

Thank you my friend, who knows with them the supervisors seem to get it right away but don't understand why they don't remove that to eliminate the confusion but then that would be logical and it's against their policy. TY again. t5063.gif

Good morning VJ Friends,

Got a checklist email from NVC last night (I think it's false). The confusing thing here is that my lawyer told me just yesterday that he was gonna be mailing my AOS & IV documents to NVC yesterday.....and as far as I know, we can't do EP since it's not available for Egypt. The good news is that it says they will review my documents in 30 days and not the standard 60 days.

Below is the email I received. Any thoughts why NVC sent this?

September 16, 2014

NVC Case Number: CROXXXXXXXXXX

Dear XXXX

We reviewed the documents you submitted to us. This letter has a list of documents that are missing or

that need additional information. Please review the instructions and send us the required information. If

you do not provide this information, it will delay your immigrant visa interview.

If you have any questions about this letter, please send us an email at asknvc@state.gov or call us at

(603) 334-0700 between 7:00am and 12 midnight U.S. Eastern Time.

When you send us your response, include a copy of this letter. Also, clearly write your case number

XXXXX-XXXXX-XXX on the upper right-hand corner of every document you send.

After you email or mail the requested information, allow us 30 business days to review your response.

When we complete our review, we will send you information about the next processing step.

If a period of one year passes without contacting the NVC (by email, telephone, or mail), all

submitted fees and documents will expire. If this happens, you will need to resubmit the fees and

documents to continue the immigration process.

______10 - EGYPT POLICE CERTIFICATE:_______________________________

Egypt: Available. Police certificates are obtainable by both Egyptians and non-Egyptians who were born in, or who permanently reside or have resided in Egypt. The Police Certificate, called a "Criminal Status Record" (Saheefat al Hala al Gina'iyya), may be obtained upon application to the police station nearest to the applicant's residence in Egypt, and normally takes between one and five working days. Applicants must be fingerprinted on the reverse side of application form. Upon completion of the investigation the certificate is delivered to the applicant with appropriate notations covering arrests which have resulted in charges being brought before a court and previous convictions, if any. An applicant abroad should make application to the nearest Egyptian consular officer who will fingerprint them and forward their

applications to the Ministry of Interior, Cairo, for investigation. Upon completion of the investigation, the application is then returned to the applicant. The latter procedure usually involves considerable delay. Since the certificates are eventually issued, they must be considered available.

______10 - LEBANON POLICE CERTIFICATE:_____________________________

LEBANON: Available. To obtain the "Judiciary Police Record", the individual who is physically present in Lebanon, must personally apply, accompanied by his/her Lebanese identity card to the Police Record Department, Internal Security Forces, Ministry of Interior. The document will be issued within 48 hours.

For those not residing in Lebanon, the request must be processed through Lebanese embassies/consulates, but applicants may experience extremely long waiting periods before they receive the documents, or may not receive them at all. The "Judiciary Police Record" may also be requested through a lawyer having a power of attormey from the individual authorizing the request.

______10 - MALAYSIA POLICE CERTIFICATE:____________________________

MALAYSIA: Available. Both Malaysians and non-Malaysians who have resided in Malaysia for a period of more than one year may apply for a Malaysian certificate of good conduct. Applicants residing in Malaysia should submit their applications to:

Consular Division

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia

Wisma Putra

No. 1 Jalan Wisma Putra

Precinct 2

62602 Putrajaya

Selangor

Tel: 6-03-8887-4000

Applicants residing outside Malaysia should contact the nearest Malaysian embassy or consulate in their

country of current residence. The application form for the Malaysian Certificate of Good Conduct, as well as the addresses and telephone numbers of Malaysian Missions abroad are available at the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website at www.klm.gov.my.

Applications for the Certificate of Good Conduct must be accompanied with the following documents:

(1) 2 Malaysian passport size photographs (40cm x 55cm);

(2) 2 copies of the applicant's Malaysian identification card;

(3) 2 copies of the applicant's passport (for non-Malaysians, copies of all passport pages);

(4) A self-addressed stamped envelope;

Processing fee of Malaysian ringgit 20.00 in cash or Malaysian postal order made under the name of

Akauntan Negara Malaysia.

Processing time for the certificate is one to two months from the date of submission. The certificate of

good conduct will be forwarded to the applicant using their self-addressed stamped envelope. The

certificate may also be collected by the applicant at the consular division counter.

[bNN 09/16/2014] CROXXXXXXXXXX

So I called NVC and spoke with Gus. He was very nice and answered all of my questions. Basically he said that we got that email because our DS-260 Form was reviewed and accepted recently but they didn't find any AOS or IV docs for me. (Of course, since my lawyer recently mailed them yesterday). He said not to worry about it.

I also told him that we did not include the Police Certificates for Malalysia and Lebanon as we're currently waiting for them and I told him our lawyer included a letter explaining this and he said that is perfect. He told me that NVC does not necessarily need the Originals and as long as we mail a scan copy to the NVC, they should be able to approve our case and my husband can take the originals when he has his interview. Doesn't sound correct right? Just in case...as soon as my husband gets the Lebanon Police Certificate we'll send them to NVC just to be safe.

I asked him to confirm the address where to send the documents and this is what he gave me:

National Visa Center

Attn: DR

31 Rochester Avenue, Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

I hope any of this info is helpful to someone. Also for anyone needing a background check for Lebanon, it's quicker if you have a friend or relative currently living in Lebanon do it for you on your behalf since it's quicker (About 20 -30 days) instead of doing it thru the Lebanon Embassy in your country (which can take up to 6mos or you may never receive it.)

Gus told me to wait 60 days to review & approve my docs once they get them but he said they're working very hard to reduce that (he said working OT).

SOLOENTA!!! Where is your CC?? Praying for you and everyone else here waiting for a CC!!
