Ok Seattle/Washington guys.

We should all plan on getting together some time in the future when we are all there, open a bottle of champagne and toast NVC. Not!!!! Definitely get together just find another toast.

AustinCanada - my mother and father in law live on Whidbey Island so we are often in that neck of the woods even though we hail from upstate New York.

Amanda and I already have our personal email addresses and communicate separately.

Just a thought?

I'll send you my email address to you and Amanda. :star:

That would be fun to get together and talk about the NVC process (wait... second thoughts... maybe not that fun?)

I am in the same boat as you now samreen. I have an AOS package checklist which we will emailed (EP) on Sept 9, for a stupid little box that my lawyer didn't fill up. Now 60 days wait!! Nov 9.

It was extremely depressing for me last week to a point that i started smoking again after quitting for 10 years. Yup. This week is starting to become (threw away the cigarettes) more of acceptance. Just live through it and move on.

NVC is a complete waste of time and resources. NVC stage is not suppose to be in existence. Uscis should approve petition and send it to the embassy and then the beneficiary will come to the interview with all the supporting documents and fees.

OR

CR-1/IR-1 should be processed like K-1 visas, the petition should just pass thru NVC like K-1 visa without submitting any documents to NVC.

NVC is just a piece of shitttttts

So I know this is thread is for ranting but i had a question about checklists--\

we are doing EP, sent AOS and IV packages via email on July 10. It was also our scan date (got the email confirmation the very next day). On sept 8 got the email for a CHECKLIST for a very minor issue (resolved in 30seconds) sent the checklist response on Sept 9. When i called NVC, they said everything else is fine. Also on the checklist email, they specifically asked for that one issue on the AOS.

My question is, can you get a second checklist now for something else? If they have verified all your civil documents (i.e. IV packet) and all of AOS and only found one thing to send you back for checklist can they checklist you again asking for something else now? Just a thought.

I can second that emotion.

NVC is a complete waste of time and resources. NVC stage is not suppose to be in existence. Uscis should approve petition and send it to the embassy and then the beneficiary will come to the interview with all the supporting documents and fees.

I agree. It's a redundant step. There's no reason to not just prepare the packet and bring it all to the embassy for the interview. I read in the other thread that the contractor who runs the NVC is changing next year. I can only imagine the craziness the changeover of employees will bring.

Hiya Austin!!!! hope you are well.

Yes after 10 years…bought a pack….smoked two in one day and then two more for two more days and then started to feel more miserable so just threw the pack away….

Yes i did complain to the lawyer. But honestly what could he do. He called up the NVC right after I did the evening before and talked with a supervisor. But didn't help much. Lot of my friends told me to get a refund. But I still stick with my original thought If it was the money i was after I would have done it myself. Hell, I would pay extra if they would review the checklist now, instead of extra 60 days. LOL!!!

Yes i know about the 1-3 weeks review, advent heard that since the 60days email thing though. Like I said, starting to accept the inevitable now. Nov 9, and if everything goes ok then maybe, just maybe i might get lucky to get an interview before xmas and be there. My partner is looking for jobs on west coast and seattle seems to be his number 1 choice. Maybe I will actually get to meet you in person then. Though, don't you have to come for your interview to Montreal. Maybe I will meet you then to hear first hand of how your interview went. I am SURE you will get a case complete very soon. Fingers, toes, eyes everything CROSSED!!!! :goofy::thumbs:

Hi Samreen,

Glad you got a job. Congratulations. It really helps to pass the time. LOL! I am working too and now picking some hobbies for evenings so that i don't think about time too much.

I am sure you and I will not get checklists. Its done. Its very rare people if ever get a checklist for IV packet. And in that case like PCC etc you can bring that to the consulate interview. I have seen three cases like that. So Nov 9-11 for us to hear from them. We can do it!!! :star:

Same with me. Getting a job helped me tremendously. I have been working for 10 days only and I feel a lot better. Plus the days flew for me. I m just praying there isn't another checklist for us. I really don't think our marriage will survive that.
