Thank you so much. It means a lot to me. And if they say no, then they say no. It is what it is

I want it, I need it, but I can't stress over it. Too much else to stress about right now

Btw

Love this thread :))

You guys are the best

I will be praying for you, my situation is basically the same. I had to come back from Egypt to take care of both my parents (I also don't regret this) because they also are no longer able to talk care of each other. Every Embassy is different so I have hope they will grant you the expedite but the Egyptian Embassy notorious for it's nastiness refused me twice. Just keep in mind them might refuse you but you have a lot of people her praying for you. God bless you and your beautiful mother. :) (F)(L)(F)

I did not request it at uscis stage

Two months ago my mother moved in with me and by then I was already four months into the process and my mom is very ill and unable to do things for herself anymore. So I am now her primary and only caregiver. Her doctor did give us a letter stating all that was wrong and that she can no longer care for herself and that I was her caregiver. And well it is not my life or death, it is hers. obviously is caused him great deal of emotional stress but I also had to cut my hours down to five or six a week. Anyway I am not sure what they will say. Enough whining

Because I am not sorry that I have my mom. And never will I be. It's actually been really nice having her here laughing with her talking with her. I just wish it wasn't for this reason.

So anyhow, I just received my NOA2 and have yet to do anything else. So I haven't sent any papers in and I haven't been given a case number either. So I was thinking I would hang onto the papers until I have a decision from them. Pray for us especially my mama!

:)

Your mom is in my prayers.

It means the case has finally arrived at the Consulate and is ready for the interview. That's when you can request an earlier interview date, which I just did since we finished our medicals last week. I'm trying to save every possible school day States-side.

Oh that would be great if you could get an earlier interview date. Are you guys ready to leave and get on the plane. We are. Our house is sold and as soon as my interview is done we will be on the plane the following week.

Sorry... I was referring to the visa foil you get issued after the interview. The case number listed there will have two additional digits. It is confusing since you need the case number and alien number (listed there as well) to create an ELIS account to pay the $165 GC fee. Many people follow USCIS's instructions to the letter and trip there because they mistakenly include the additional digits... that's why I mentioned it.

Ok thanks a lot for clarifying and sharing. Will definitely save and bookmark this page so it can help me when I get to this stage.

Hi, msc13 I saw we have a similar case, the last friday I got a second checklist for my civil documents, they want the penal records, I already had aos checklist... Did you get cc? or Did they let you know something about your second checklist? I will appreciate your help, Thanks

Hi Yamil

I am sorry you were check listed for your IV docs. What was it for?

No I do not have a CC. I am going to call NVC on Monday but while they looked at my AOS checklist and accepted it I don't believe they have looked at the IV one yet. The scan date on that one is 29th Aug so we have another few weeks to wait yet.

Try and get your checklist to them ASAP so that you can get the clock ticking.

I will let you know what they say when I have spoken to them.

I am so sorry to hear that your mother isn't well.

Good news is that you are at the best stage of the NVC process and you should have time to submit without delaying anything.. I actually applied with no NVC case number, I just used my USCIS case number. I then contacted them again once I had a case number.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Even if you don't get your expedite, it appears that the new system at NVC will help you get through it as quickly as possible.

All the best.

How is everyone? Hope you are all having a good weekend and ready for some CC this week!!! I know there are a few of you who will be getting one soon!

As for me, it is Monday here in Oz and I have a day off. I am trying to gather all of our documents for my husband to take to his interview next month. We can't really afford to both fly to Sydney for it, so I have to trust that he knows where everything is (since I am the one who has done ALL of the paperwork up to this point, he wouldn't even know what an AOS was if they asked him). So, I am labelling everything in a folder so hopefully he can find it if/when they ask for it. I think I must be a control freak! I am seriously considering going with him.

And, right now he is being poked and prodded at his medical. Poor guy has a fear of doctors and needles. I was worried he just wouldn't go to the appointment, but he has already called me asking what his case number is so I know he arrived.

Sending you good vibes and best of lurk with the interview.

Oh that would be great if you could get an earlier interview date. Are you guys ready to leave and get on the plane. We are. Our house is sold and as soon as my interview is done we will be on the plane the following week.

We are ready to go at a moment's notice and we already bought a house in Colorado two years ago. It helps a great deal in easing the move that we're not selling the Kuwait house yet. We could manage financially without selling it for a while... we have a huge extended family that we plan to visit annually, so it would serve as our vacation home... and we have lots of sentimental value in it; my wife artistically painted the whole house herself, going up 20-foot scaffolding and all, and we had all our kids while living in it after overseeing its design and construction ourselves.

Immigration nowadays is a lot different than it used to be. Can you imagine people used to immigrate into the far unknown, never to see their old towns and left-behind relatives again?

Happy Monday to you Ebu and thank you so much we shall see if this is our week. :D Don't want to get to excited. (L)

We're not selling our apartment on the Red Sea either for the same reasons, well most of them hahaa our first place and we fixed it just the way we liked it from scratch. It's all paid for and taxes are tiny so why not. :D

Yes I don't think I could have left my homeland knowing I would never see it again. Must have been so devastating for everyone plus communication was so slow. :(

:) Happy it's not that way anymore. But come to think of it to get family to come visit us to the USA it so difficult, I understand why in some case but not in most. (F) (L) (F)

One thing I wish VJ would have that would make it perfect is real time chat. Maybe even with voice that would be so cool. :D
