Hi everyone. I'm totally bushed tonight. I was going to call NVC to find out the scan date for my IV package, but I've been so depressed I can't even muster the energy to do it. I should be happy I'm near the end of the process, but I think I'm just really worn out from waiting so long.

I keep thinking if it weren't for the backlogs, I'd be in the US right now. I just don't wanna call NVC and get someone talk to me like I'm an idiot. I've already spent all day on a time management course at work where I was treated like an idiot for being a "right-brained" person with no organisational or planning skills...

I can't even fully commit myself to my work anymore. Since the beginning of this year, everyone at work has known I'd be leaving "in a few months" so I haven't been as involved with things and get left out. I got recommended for a pay rise by my line manager in April, but her manager said no because we can't afford it, then gave pay rises to his finance team -_- I guess he said no since I'm leaving so it's not worth rewarding me. I wish I hadn't said anything now since it's taken so long and it's just awkward at work. Every month I'm still there they're like "I thought you were leaving o_O"

The company is heading in a bad direction anyway with dubious business practices. It's getting stressful and I just want to leave! I feel like I've been on the brink of leaving, but can't quite make my escape because the backlogs just get bigger and I need to save money before I do eventually leave. Knowing my luck, the London embassy will get backlogged next.

And that is my rant for today :jest:

 You're so close to the end, you just have to look forward. I too have been feeling so depressed. I've barely done any work recently and it's getting to a point where I will end up not passing the year. I think the hardest thing is not knowing when you will be leaving. It's the uncertainty that is really difficult, especially when you're trying to be motivated about anything. You just have to remember that this is temporary. (L)

This might be Embassy/Country specific, for me everything had to be translated the good thing is that in Egypt most things are available in both Arabic and English. You might want to post this on Saylin's thread. Geeeeeeeeez wish I had posted it on the first page but they you know it already. :D

I for one rather be safe than sorry if you can get the document and there in Spanish have them translated. But if there right then there is no need.

My police certificate was in english so I didn't get to translate it. If am in your position, I think I'll just send everything in, just in case. I don't trust NVC because they are notorious for giving conflicting info.

Yeah...that's kinda what I was worried about too. Thanks guys!!!

Arrived in US: 3/8/14

STILL HAPPY AND NORMAL AS OF 8/4/2016!!

AOS Approved per phone: 10/22/14
*Received what I thought was a false checklist on this date as well*

*Problems: Called on 10/27/14 11/5/14 and 11/20/14 just to be proactive On all of these dates except the last, NVC kept telling me that my IV document probably hadn't been reviewed yet. On 11/20 the representative told me that the BC needed to be inextensa and the marriage license. True enough I had sent an extracto. But requested a supervisor review bc I knew the marriage lic was inextensa. 2 days later called again and got the same supervisor who told me that the marriage lic needed the proper signed legalizada (sticker on the back)

Sent necessary documents/Received: 11/20/14 and 11/26/14

Called 12/15/14: got Arthur....after he checked and verbally spanked he sent me to supervisor Silvia who said she would pull my file and try to figure it out.

Case complete: 12/19/14 Sylvia called and left a voicemail, called and confirmed later that night and status changed to N/A.

Thank you so much Sylvia. May God bless you and your family.

I'm really pissing myself off, lost all my multiquotes hahahaa ok here we go again.

Always go with your gut instinct, I'm sure your right but I just don't trust them but God willing your right. :D Thank you so much praying we all get out of immigration soon and back to our normal lives.

Hahaha. I'm probably not right at all. I think my positivity stems from my hatred of Serco (I think they are the main contract holders?), so I feel like any company is better than Serco. I'm sure they will prove me wrong. :ranting:

I just made a Chocolate swirl cake with oreo frosting for husband's birthday. I keep telling myself that because it's a vegan cake it will be okay, but in reality, THERE GOES MY DIET. :crying:

I'm here because I want to share my frustration about this process, yesterday I received a checklist concerning my birth certificate, I just went nuts because that's the certificate that the consulate here requests, a call later, I just found out my family didn't sent the certified copy I gave to them, they just sent a scanned photocopy, and today they're sending the real one, another 60 days for me, I thought september was my month.

T_T

Oh my I'm so very sorry but as they say in our country "no se mueve la hoja de un arbol sin la volunta de Dios." "Not even the leaf of a tree moves without the will of God" all will be well you'll see. :)

Viva Ecuador! :Dflag-of-ecuador.gif

Please when you get a chance fill in your timeline it helps others help you. :)

Ok here goes.. on the 864ez I'd like to avoid chk lists. Can anyone help ?

Can I leave Info on preparer blank since it was prepared by myself ? Or do NA?

He has no middle name or postal code can I leave blank or do NA

Name of second employer for me- na or blank

Lastly, just double chking

I did NOT file 1040ez so I WILL be using my total income not AGI or W2 income (think it's line 22 on taxes can't recall) correct?

Thanks in advance :)

Ps. I will sign in black ink

Pls. For some reason when I click box 19 that I filed taxes the optional button underneath for sending in prior two yrs automatically chks too. Any idea why? And since they want this thing typed, I'm not sure if I should leave it blank while filling it out and then after printing it use a pen to mark in the one box or what?

I'm Not sending the extra years

Hey patnjac, we're doing the I-864ez too. I think I'm going to spam N/A everywhere just in case. HOWEVER, there's one exception - I don't have a middle name either, but I think for that I'm going to just cross that field out (or type "-----------"). I was going to write N/A but... juuust in case, I don't want my papers to say "FirstName N/A LastName". <_<

I don't have the 1040 here but yes, I'm pretty sure line 22 is right (total income). I also had the same problem with the checkbox, decided to check it manually.

Oh sweet heart I know how you feel didn't sleep a wink yesterday and I'm wiped out from constantly checking for the infamous N/A. Is it possible for you to take a few days off? Recharge and try to relax and take it easy? Sooner than you think you will be walking out of that office with a box full of your stuff and saying goodbye to them for the very last time. :)t5063.gif

That's kinda my situation too, every month someone appears and says things like "Thought you left/leaving", and there is the fact they don't understand the process and the backlog, when I say I have to wait 60 more days they say something like "Uuuh, I think you're not leaving", "I think this thing of yours isn't going to work out", "You're leaving next year", sometimes I think my worst mistake was to tell everybody that I planned to leave, not because they're bad persons, but later that person in a random conversation someone says "Oh he's leaving to the US", and suddenly without knowing, a large group of people builds expectations about you, and then the discouragement part repeats, and so on, but I'm cured of that issue, eventually will come, so cheers.

This is the reason only my family knows, I knew it would make everything worse. But soon all this will be over, try if you can to ignore them they may be nice but your business is yours! t5063.gif

Talk to you guys later going to try to sleep a little bit. :(

My sleeping has gotten a lot better since we got the IV invoice. I'm sorry you're not sleep well :( I don't know what to suggest that isn't a drug lol :D

I called in sick on Tuesday and Wednesday because I just couldn't get out of bed and face the day. It's really bad, but I pretended I had a cold and a fever when I didn't, I just didn't think they'd be sympathetic to me saying "I'm not coming in today because I feel sad ;-;"

The days off didn't really make any difference, I just laid in bed only getting up to use the restroom and maybe get food and drink once in a while. I hate when I become this pathetic. My weekends consist of me doing basically what I did on my days off sick. Thankfully one of my friends has invited me out for drinks on Sunday so that'll be a nice break to the monotonous misery.

I haven't even been checking for the N/A because of how insane I went checking for the IV invoice in June and July. At this point I figure I might just wait for the case complete or interview email because it's like watching a pot of water boil, really. If you turn your back it'll happen quicker. It's just difficult to turn your back and ignore it at the same time.

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I have a random thought, wouldn't be easier for the NVC, speaking logistically, reviewing checklist as soon as posible than sending to another 60 day line? I mean, therefore they can get rid of cases, and if the issue is the consulate workload, I wouldn't mind waiting this 2 months knowing I will have an interview rather than waiting for NVC to review my docs. :clock:

Unfortunately, NVC employees (or executives) are not as smart as you are.:rofl::rofl:

NVC currently doesn't have a system to process checklist documents faster (so it takes another 60 calender days). :bonk:

Hi everyone. I'm totally bushed tonight. I was going to call NVC to find out the scan date for my IV package, but I've been so depressed I can't even muster the energy to do it. I should be happy I'm near the end of the process, but I think I'm just really worn out from waiting so long.

You're not alone dear. The last two weeks before my CC where the most stressful to me in this journey. You really need to come up with something to keep you occupied for hours for the next few weeks... reading, gardening, rediscovering your town/city (and I don't mean the bars) ...etc.

I just made a Chocolate swirl cake with oreo frosting for husband's birthday. I keep telling myself that because it's a vegan cake it will be okay, but in reality, THERE GOES MY DIET. :crying:

Nah... just wash it in a with a diet coke and you'll be fine.

I Thought the same thing if I put an a for his middle name they would probably put it on the papers or give me a checklist for it ha ha. I'm going to do what you did thank you for the info

Wow! Came back from a week without Internet to find this split in NVC topics, seems I missed a few things while I was away! Since I'm through with the process I'll probably stay mostly on the "advice" thread for process questions to help people along when I can. I just want to say to any of you who aren't planning on posting over there anymore, I'm keeping you in my thoughts and wishing you all the best. It's an awful process and it has only gotten worse, but it'll come to an end and your new life will be full of wonderful moments together that slowly overwrite the memory of these days. Hang in there guys. I'm glad you have a safe space to vent, but I hope none of you needs it for long :)

I think I read somewhere on VJ where the person wrote his first name, he then put N/A as middle name, then put his last name. The immigration input N/A as his middle on their system   kinda funny
