That is such a lovely and meaningful poem. Thanks for sharing with us. I hope that you and the family are doing ok. What is the status right now. Are you just waiting for the Embassy to get back to you?

Yep... I just wait till they're good and ready to contact me again. In my past experiences, they totally refused to give any status updates or projected times of completion.

PS. Poem is from The Lord of the Rings novel.

You should link up with my wife... she's an accomplished beader, among other artsy things.

Totally agree. Took them 5 months to collect my papers and send them to the embassy, when said embassy is only one mile from me, door to door, with entire embassy grounds in between. I could've probably made paper planes out of my civil documents and landed them into the embassy grounds from my roof.

What a plan really its work :P just do it then we people follow u :))

Well, this morning I dropped my husband off at the airport so he can go back to the US and live with basic freedoms that the UK denied him by not approving his spouse visa.

My 5 year old cried all morning asking him not to leave and then I joined in at the airport (and ever since). Because his spouse visa was denied we had to go through the humiliating process of arriving at the check in desk with no passport, just a letter from the home office telling the check in agent that my husband has no right to be here. Then to top it off, they put his passport on a flight to New York "by accident" -- he is going to Chicago and then onto Tampa tomorrow (or was)!! The UKBP told him that CBP is aware that his passport has been sent to NY by accident but i'm sure they will have no clue and my husband will be stuck at O'Hare. I'm so disgusted with the UK. I feel physically sick whenever I see something of my husbands or when I think about doing to grocery shopping today and it not being with him. I sound pathetic. I have 7 freshman classes to teach this week and I've no idea how I will get through it.

I can't even think about what will happen if I get a checklist. I'm so worried about this. Please NVC hurry up and pleaseeee give me a December interview

I'm so sorry. The US immigration system (and legal system as a whole) leaves much to be desired, but the requirements in the UK are just so stringent. It's heartbreaking seeing families separated after being left in limbo so long, to see them petitioning for a change in law and knowing exactly how it feels to be in that position -- at the mercy of an unjust system that cares nothing for our lives. My heart goes out to you. I hope things wrap up smoothly for you at NVC and you're together again to ring in the new year.

Thank you so much. I think, in a way, I wouldn't be so upset if we chose this move. But the UK gave no valid reason to deny the visa. I was working 3 jobs, on no benefits and have a dual national child. They told me to quit my PhD and move to the US, so not only do I lose my husband I feel like I have no country to call my own. I know it probably sounds dramatic but I honestly used to think we at least cared a little about human rights in this country -- I certainly never thought i'd be forced out and I never dreamed my daughter would be denied her father.

I suppose I am excited to get back to our life in the US, but it would have been nice to spend more time with my family here. The last time I left my nana had a stroke and it worries me so much.

Hopefully one day the world will wake up and stop separating families for the sake of paperwork.

It's not dramatic at all. I know how strongly my husband feels about human rights in the UK versus US... I think seeing how different things are in our two countries underscores the expectation that the UK cares more about its citizens (i.e., takes better care of them). To have them turn their back on you must have been an incredible shock and disappointment. Seems like our governments betray us no matter where we choose to make our homes, but it's never going to be ok, and it's never going to be an easy thing to get over. It makes my stomach churn just thinking about it.

I keep reading about "when will they send my ds-261 and am concerned I will cause permanent damage from he eyes rolling into the back of my head.

I lnow; we were once there, too. But 5 months at NVC with no CC makes for a grumpy savagechair ;)

I agree, plus some of them are down right snotty and not very nice at all some remind me of another member. :D So I don't go there more for that reason. (L)

Oh that has made me laugh. I have had a 'me' day today. First I spent two hours in the hairdressers, home for a quick lunch and then we all went to the hospital to have my cast off. Hooray. I have two arms again although the one that was broken is still very painful. Have lots of exercises to do and hopefully it won't be long before I am back to normal. Well, I wasn't normal in the first place but back to my old self!!!!!

I would love a me day but what to do? :D Oh it feels so nice to get a cast off but at the same time at least I felt a little insecure. Had my left knee operated on a few years ago had a cast from my foot to my hip, not fun at all. So happy your on the mend now to keep you break free. ;)  (L) Doesn't matter if you were normal once you go through this process we will never be normal again. :D(L)

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,

A light from the shadows shall spring;

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,

The crownless again shall be king.

So very beautiful ty MoBar. :D(F) (L) (F)

Fingers crossed for Tuesday then.

NVC is done with July packages. l think you should give NVC a call to ask of the status.

Yea you are right, lt will save them all this backlog. They will just click and review all the packages together.

I called 9 Eastern time spoke to Lisa said my AOS was missing number 13 name of sponsor (BS) and a letter why taxes were not filed. I sent it in and it should be there. I think they are going to hold me up until I send that not sure. Of course Sylvia was not there and will leave a message and I told her she has several messages from me to call and she has failed to do so. I need to have this nightmare done with. Lisa promised to make sure she gets the message but wont hold my breath. Can't begin to explain how painful all this is. :(

My dear, you should've known better not to take NVC reps seriously. They're just relaying to you disjointed snapshots from the screen. Just hold on till the supervisor gets around to reviewing your case file, hopefully today as promised. Even their supervisors are backlogged, it seems.

My dear, you should've known better not to take NVC reps seriously. They're just relaying to you disjointed snapshots from the screen. Just hold on till the supervisor gets around to reviewing your case file, hopefully today as promised. Even their supervisors are backlogged, it seems.

Thank you my friend you give me hope what would we do without you. :)

Going to start the new Oct thread so I'll be back to post the link. :D

They began delaying the IV fee invoice early May. It was taking them 30 business (45 calender) days to review documents back then. :dancing:

Well, many people who waited for 30 business days for the IV fee invoice have CC now (myself included). :star:

Then, some people began sending their IV packages with the AOS bar-coded cover letter. It may be one of the reasons why it's taking longer (30 business days vs. 60 calender days) for them to review packages now.

They could slow down for any reason such as administrative, training, processing other applications, etc. Of course, they could speed up for any reason.

I guess nobody knows how busy they are. Only thing we know is that they're asking us to wait for 60 calender days, unfortunately.

IMO, the reason processing went from 30 days, to 30 business days to "at least 60 days", is because the company that runs NVC got the contract from the State Dept. only three months ago - which is when the delay hit. Give them few months for a learning curve and few months to polish the stupid out of their employees, they should become more effective by 2015. I think the ####### they gave us about receiving more approved petitioned from USCIS is the marketing excuse they gave us, since 2013 filers all too familiar with the delay at USCIS stage, which was caused by overflow of DACA petitions. But it makes no sense, DACA's bottleneck to continue on to NVC, since DACA cases are for teens that are already in the US. What do y'all think? I think Obama screwed us with DACA in 2013, and State Department screws us now at the NVC stage by changing contractors in June. Thats my gripe for the day.Scan date 08/12 and I am out of patience.
