Hello everyone!

We received a letter on September 25th indicating all documentation necessary to complete the NVC processing of my case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled we will be notified. My husband filed an I 130 for his minor son whom is now 15 yrs old. His son is in Jamaica living with his mom and My husband is a permanent resident residing in the U.S. Can anyone tell me how long it will take before an interview is scheduled for his son and will my husband have to be present for the interview?

The letter you received is your case complete letter. The interview can vary depending on the workload of the embassy. My cousin's husband received their case complete around this time last year and their interview was scheduled for the end of January, they were also F2A. But this was the DR embassy, so again it depends on the workload. You can check the embassy website at travel.state.gov and check the list of appointments regularly, they will send you a letter anyway.

Also you do not need to be present at the interview, but his mom or other adult should be able to attend the interview with him since he's a minor. Also depending on Jamaica's laws he may need consent from his mother to exit the country, so you have to find out what they require over there for minors to travel.

The priority date (PD) is on your notice of action (NOA1). This is the letter that you receive about 2 weeks after submitting the petition stating that your petition and payment has been received and accepted. Then when your petition is approved you get an NOA2 where it states that the petition is approved and will be sent to the NVC for further processing.

Where can I find the priority date ?

Your PD is already current. Did you already finish processing at the NVC and receive case complete? If so, the interview can be anywhere from 2 months after that to several months. This of course depends on the embassy's workload. My cousin's husband for example had case complete in October 2013 and her interview was scheduled for January 2014 in the DR embassy, they had a lot of cases.

The PD is July 25 2012. When do you think we will receive an interview?
