Apparently it is not the same, because I know what I filled out, I didn't have question about USICS case number :)

It is the same. We all access and fill-out the online DS-160 in the same source: https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/

The exact wording for the USCIS receipt number that I was referring to is "Application Receipt / Petition number", as mentioned in Mike&Lin's response. Or in Page 3 of the DS-160 example form.

Well, I wrote new number for Application Receipt / Petition number", not USCIS number. Maybe I was wrong, but apparently that was not a big mistake, since yesterday I got the visa :)

It appeared so. Congrats!

It's still best that folks won't be misinformed about the DS-160 though. The DS-160 FAQ has a wealth of information for the terms we are not so sure of. :)

Ilovemyman: Thank you! So is it the "travel" page where I'm supposed to add both USCIS receipt- and NVC case number?

I've already submitted my DS-160 but found a way to retrieve my application to edit things, just can't see where I would add the case number.

Hi dear I made a mistake as well can u tell me how to retrieve the application to edit things please

Today, I just submit my ds 160 . I was not sure about this point and asked me,bere of my country, here in visa jorney. Once said that I must use invoice number, and the other said that invoice number is needed when paying the visa vee online.

In my ds 160 aplication at this page I were asked to write receipt number, . I went through the aplication almost 5 times. For even more I open another aplication to provide what number I would be asked for, ... No difference. In both three aplication that I completet I was asked for petition number. (1 for me, one for my son and one as a sample)

I don't know what hapen with this. I open ds160 format right from the email that the embassy sent to me. I thought to write to the embasy but didn't find it needable. They have more importante think to answer.

Want to emphasize one mire thing; - in my email the embassy has not explain anything about number I must use .

Extra advise : you better write your case no. In every evidence that you send in package 3; I did it because I sow in some videos in YouTube. Even the date and signature at the end of the papers .

Hope both of numbers to be correct and WISH YOU GOOD LUCK IN YOUR JORNEY , AND TO BE AS SSON AS POSSIBLE WITH YOUR LOVER ONE.

I filled out the form before the NVC number came and it went through. I put my USCIS number.

is this ok????

DS-160 does not ask for the NVC number. it asks for the petition receipt number which is your way number so it is correct.
