Hello VJers, I have been reading on here that you must attend interview to get your 2 yrs temporary green card. How possible is that? Please how many people from Nebraska centre had been interviewed? I live in Virginia and I think the closest USCIS office is in Baltimore has anyone been interview there? I just want to know if it's compulsory or is only for a few people. If it's only for a selected few why are they subjected to it? Hope to get response from you guys. Thanks.

For those adjusting from K1, the probability of an applicant to be sent an interview notice is about 50%. So not all are required to undergo an interview, but this solely depends on the adjudicator who will review your AOS application. Whereas those adjusting from work or tourist visas, they are typically called for an AOS interview.

You can check the uscis field office reviews here in VJ. For Baltimore MD: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=&cty=Baltimore+MD&dfilter=5

Virginia has two ASC offices, one in Washington (Fairfax) and one in Norfolk. A few weeks after you apply for your AOS they will send you an appointment letter for biometrics at the closest Application Support Center to you, usually that is where the interview will take place if they schedule you for one. Usually interviews are conducted to make sure that all documents and information is correct. If additional documentation is needed they will ask you for it and make corrections as well (change of address, phone #... etc.)

We didn't have an interview, due to our case being transferred to CSC from VCS for 'faster processing' (it didn't seem any faster). We were living in VA at the time, near Alexandria.

I expected an interview for ROC, as I had to go twice for fingerprints to TN. I had plenty of documentation ready, but we didn't get interviewed for that either. We were in AR by then, and we were not transferred. That took 11 months, and the 10 year card just turned up in the post.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
