I'm confused, at the DMV they should have told you all the paperwork you need in order to get your ID or license here in Florida. You need proof of identification, a social security card, and 2 proofs of residence. Without this you will not be able to get either. Here is the website with direct info on what you will need in order to get the ID card .http://www.gathergoget.com/checklist/checklist.aspx

Please remember if you don't have everything they will not issue the card. After you go to the DMV and give them the paperwork. You will get your card that day. It just may take a long time if the office is full of people.

I have never had my driver's license mailed to me, if you have the patience to wait then that's fine. If not,try a trip to the local DMV.From the look of it you in Lauderdale or Orlando. If you have all the paper work I mentioned they will take your picture in the office and print it the same day. It shouldn't take long. Like I said I have never had to wait for my license in any county I've lived in. Good luck.

It differs by state. In DC, you show all your documents and then they approve you on the spot, and they print a temporary paper ID/driver license. Then the DMV mails you the card about two weeks later.

What I'm getting at is that you know with complete confidence before you leave the DMV if you were approved or denied your ID.
