im a bit confuse about what to do after getting the 2 year green card, what are we going to file next before it expired? thanks.

Within 90 days prior to the 2-year conditional GC expiration, you need to file for removal of conditions (ROC).

More info in the ROC guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/751guide

oh thank you it confused me since why do wehave to remove it lol, and then after that we are going to file another petition? really appreciate your reply.

When your ROC is approved, you will get the 10-year GC. After that, you have the option to apply for US citizenship [see citizenship eligibility / requirements] or just maintain the residency status [while renewing GC every 10 years].

I believe the basis of the conditional residency is to prove it's not a fraudulent marriage, so it lasts only two years since (presumably) a genuine, non-fraudulent marriage will last past that time and a fraudulent marriage won't. From what I've read, it appears that if your AOS takes a long time to process and isn't approved until after the two-year marriage mark, you may not even have to worry about conditional residency...though I have no idea how often this actually happens.

When you enter on a K-1 and adjust status, it was once worried that many were in fraudulent marriages just to get a green card. So congress passed a law stating they should only get two year green cards, with the condition they prove they had a valid marriage when it was time to renew that card. Some think this means they have to stay married, but actually they just need to prove they married with honest intent to have a real marriage. When these conditions are met, you get a 10 year green card.

I've never been clear on exactly what "within 90 days" means. Does that mean any time before you get to the 90-day mark? Or does it mean between 90 days and 1 day? I feel silly asking this, but I'm actually confused about it!

It means ninety days or less from the expiration date of the document. If your document expired on April 15th, you could apply starting on January 15th and all the way up to April 15th.

Be sure you are saving joint documents FROM THE TIME YOU MARRIED, not just from the POE date. Some of those documents you may have submitted while at NVC, but put them in your ROC folder and re-submit them with your I-751.

You want to represent your whole marriage when removing conditions.
