hey, guys, I think they're seriously trying to mess with my head. I sent my own complaint email on Sunday night and received an email back this morning telling me:

"Dear Ms. Goulding,

The decision was mailed to your fiance today. Additionally, we have

sent a

courtesy copy to your address in Colorado.

Sincerely,

USCIS-London"

I don't know about you guys, but that sounds like a denial to me! :crying: I haven't heard anything from our senator's office. I just have no idea what's going on!! And it's really making me mental. All day I've been thinking, what in the world are we going to do? How in the world is this going to work? I still have no answer. Anyway, any positive thoughts to send my way? So the pending next to our name must be a typo, unless they were lying in their email. Either way, I'm screwed!! :crying:

I'll let you know when we hear anything.

Don't jump to conclusions. They probably are not allowed to give the decision in an email. Back when we were waiting the approvals came by phone but just after that it changed. I remember wendybob was really scared for a minute when he got a letter instead of a phone call but then it was an approval. It was worded weirdly though. If you get the same thing you will have to check his post from a couple of months ago... he quoted the letter.

Hoping the best for you!

Oh wow Tiff I am so messed up. I thought your case wasn't the one that went back to pending. I thought I looked at it wrong. It must have been a typo for whomever was doing the update. Please try not to let it drive you over the edge.

I agree with Mary. Don't jump to conclusions just yet. I think it's cruel for them not to give you an answer on your email. Making you wait for the mail just seems so wrong after waiting this long. I don't remember if they told Paul in an email or if he had to wait for the letter but i'm going to go search and see if i can find out. Don't give up lady. Hang in there and try not to let your mind wonder. ( i know easy for me to say) Wish I could help you somehow.

Ok I'm going to go have a look.

Hugs,

Vicky

Hey tiff.

Just went back and did some research. Paul received his approval in the mail. I found his post where he said he was away at the time and he opened the letter on a Saturday with his approval. So don't think because they didn't tell you in the email, that it's a denial. I'm sure they have reasons for not revealing the results in an email. Probably just in case there is a mistake. They probably just want you to read the official letter just to make sure nothing goes wrong.

This process is just too damn cruel... people who don't know any of us and don't care about us have the power to decide the outcomes of our lives :(

It's almost laughable that they decided that tom is a "threat to the safety, security and well being of the usa."

If only they knew how highly respected and trusted he is by everyone who knows him and works with him. The people at the embassy could see it... the woman at the first window said she could tell he was a good person. she even called him the day after the waiver was denied.. she called him because she wanted some electrical work done! she asked how we were doing and was upset to hear we were denied but glad that I was still there with him and would move to the UK. He didn't have time to do the work she wanted. He doesnt really do home electrics although he could if he wanted to. He is an industrial electrician in a big hospital trained to take care of sensitive hospital equipment among other things. Anyway it seems she would have trusted him to come into her home.

I think where we failed was not including character references. We had asked at the embassy if we should. They said it wasnt necessary. I think we should have. We could have gotten some really good ones.

Although I am looking forward to my new life in the Uk, I still grieve for the life we wanted here. What hurts me the most though is how this has made tom feel.

Tiff,

I agree with everyone else, don't jump to conclusions yet........ It could be an approval just as well  . Paul didn't get a reply to his email asking them, when his case was completed and a few days later he got his approval in the mail. I got good vibes about this one - I'm sure your fiance is going to call you all excited and tell you he got his approval letter any day now. Think positive :D

Wow, they are actually done with your waiver, and yet, the tracking list shows no sign of it whatsoever....London works in mysterious ways :P

Once again, think positive - think approval

January 27 2006: submitted and approved I-130 in Copenhagen, Denmark

March 23 2006: Interview, submitted I-601 waiver

May 2 2006: London recieves waiver

August 21 2006: waiver approved woo hoo

thanks -- those were just the positive thoughts I was looking for, of course! You guys are the best! You know, now that you mention it, wasn't it wendibob who got the letter directly from DHS and wondered if that was really an approval? I'm going to hold onto that until I hear different. He's had no mail from them today, so maybe tomorrow.

I agree, Mary, this is the cruelest process! Especially the denials. It seems to me that if they're going to deny your case, that should be the first ones they complete so you're not just hangning out there, not being able to really get on with your life, like you said, trusting some stranger who doesn't even know you to decide where you're going to be allowed to live! I suppose if it was like a three or ten-year bar, we could just wait it out, but with a criminal conviction in your background, that's a lifetime bar if your waiver isn't successful. Really stinks!

Anyway, hope you ladies have a great day!

Where in the UK is your fiance located? I know we received our letter the day after they posted it but we were right in London. Brixton is only 4 miles south of London Bridge. Tom said it could take two days for the mail to reach Scotland , Wales or even other areas of England.

They probably mailed it two seconds before they wrote the email to you. "It's in the post, I swear." I also wonder if when they do mail something there its all just picked up at the end of the day. I doubt someone drops it in a post box.

... and yes that was wendibob who wasnt sure of the wording of the letter and who was a big frightened to see a letter because right up until that time they had been phoning people with approvals and writing them with denials. That has changed now. It seems to all be by mail now.

As far as a lifetime bar.... alot of my friends and family, until I told them, didn't realize that this isn't just a matter of him not being able to live here. He can NEVER enter the USA again.. ever. That's what is killing us right now. I need him here to help me with this move. It's too much for one person really. Later I need him to travel with me so I can see my kids and grandkids. I honestly do not know if I will ever come back myself. People are just going to have to visit me there.

hi, Mary,

he's in the north of England, in Lincolnshire area. I fly into Manchester and it takes us about an hour and a half to get home. I know what you mean about the overwhelming task of trying to move your life, especially if you were not thinking you'd ever have to do that!

Hope it's going well for you.

I honestly don't know what to say, Tiff, other than I am very sorry. I'm shocked and angry so I can only imagine how you feel. (F)

You know.. I have some anger setting in now as well.. something I didn't realize I felt when it happened to us... was just too numb at the time I guess. How the hell can they put people through this kind of wait only to deny in the end? I am so ready to leave this country and never look back.. never.

Tiff, I'm so sorry to hear this, how can they do that, did they give any reason???

Remember, you can always appeal or do the motion to reconsider - please don't give up just yet. I've read of a few cases that were denied, did the MTR and got approved.

I guess I'll just let you gather your thoughts, once again.. I'm so sorry that you have to go through this :(
