Hello everyone. My fiancee is flying out tomorrow to come be with me forever! Very excited. Before I let my excitement get the best of me, I wanted to ask people who have already come to the states:

1. what documents did you need at the airport (when you entered into the US). I am guessing you only need your passport (which contains the visa), but do you need anything else?

2. What was the process like from deplaning to exiting the airport?

Please let me know. Thank you!

My PoE was Chicago O'Hare and it was really easy and short. My then fiance was with me on the plane, but after we landed he went to the US citizen line and I went to the Immigration line. It was late, after 8pm. There were only 2 other people in the entire immigration area. When it was my turn, the IO asked for my passport and the purpose of my trip. I gave him the passport and the sealed envelope, he unsealed it, went through my file, asked me several questions, took my fingerprints and took a photo of me. That was it. I was done in less than 10 minutes.

It's best if you look up your fiancee's PoE reviews here on Visa Journey, I believe you'll find some useful tips there :)

Good luck!

my p.o.e is chicago o'hare too, and my flight is tomorrow, what r the questions they asked u?

They asked me just some basic questions, like my full name, my fiance's name, his date of birth, my date of birth, where he lives, what he does, what my last job was, if i had any kids, if my fiance had any kids... They asked some questions 2 times I guess to check if I'll give them the same answer :) i think it also helped that he traveled with me because they also asked me where he was at that moment, i told them in the USC line :) It was really so much easier than I thought it would be

- passport and the brown envelope

My POE was LAX, huge airport, lots of walking. The immigration personnel took the envelope, opened it, cross checked everything, just asked a couple of questions, about 5 mins I was on my way to my husband :)
