Congrats G man!

I believe that is the entire concept of a discussion board. Who is "we"?

"We" well at least myself, are those who on VJ that my read through an interesting thread or topic but not post any comments. I"m not sure that, personally, that I would have add any value to the previous posts.

I have been posting here for over two years, I've yet to see a post of value.

Welcome, and feel free to jump in man.

No we don't. We just point out what was said. Maybe we just get tired of the disrespectful comments that are made about black people day in and day out. Last week it was actually said that we have a lower IQ than anyone else. That was towards all black people. Not just some. Every comment is Blacks commit more crime, not some. That's not a twist.

I apologized for my mistake.

My attitude towards most of your posts is that, whenever you make an error, I let it go. You tend to apologize if you make a mistake or are misunderstood - which is more than most. I just brought this up because it was such a straight forward statement and it bothered me a lot. I'm pretty sure you understand.

We're goods.

But to act as if you do not see this on VJ is a travesty in itself. I never personally said ANYONE in this thread made this statement. And that is where things went wrong. Incompleteness on my part. However to ignore the fact that this is what we see on VJ is ridiculous.

What you are saying is untrue. Blacks are called nappyhead h### on VJ, thugs, worst neighbors, lowest IQs, can't get educated, single baby mommas, criminals, etc, many generalized statements about blacks in a lot of these threads. But yet, you choose to ignore this and then make the statement above because myself and Marvin comment on the generalized statements. This is quite disappointing. And when I choose to point out the blacks that are doing good, getting educated and doing something worth while, we are still generalized and plagued by stats that have nothing to do with the success of other blacks.

The problem with your comment is this, it is not something you deal with so there will always be a small piece of realness missing from the situation that you will not be able to fully understand. Nothing is wrong with this. I get it and I envy you for not having to carry this burden or mattress.(see other thread for this comment) If we could change the way our lives go daily I would. If I could change my daughter going to school being called out of her name, coming home crying, asking what is wrong with her, why is she not beautiful because she is black, I WOULD!!!! We will eventually have to pack our bags and leave where we are between what she deals with here and myself.

Again, you just cannot understand why these issues are dearer to some than others. Generalizations and stereotypes hurt. If you are not the one dealing with them you just wouldn't be able to fully understand it.

I'm going to just ignore all of that.

Have a nice days. :)

You ended your long post by saying that generalizations and stereotypes hurt.

But at the same time you are trying to defend the generalization that Marvin made. You also included a few generalizations and stereotypes in your post. Don't you see the hypocrisy?

You mean I quoted what was wrote here on VJ?

What generalizations that Marvin made? I honestly don't remember. Please enlighten me.
