Arrived in montreal around 12:30. Tried to get into the consulate shortly after 1, and was told to come back at 2:15. So I found a nice little cafe, holed up with some coffee and went over my documents again. I went back at 2:15, and entered with another lady. I had a little trouble with security as the girls had lovingly tucked a lollipop in my pocket for me that I didnt know about, without a wrapper, and with the snow and dampness, it had fused to my pocket lol. After that, headed down to the elevator, then up to the 19th floor. It was like a ghost town. I paid my fees, and took a seat. Was just me and the other lady for a good while, then we were joined by another K1er. The lady at the window didnt seem to be having a good day. Chided me for missing something on a form then in the next sentence commented on how well prepared I was, then went back to barking off forms. They didnt want my fiance's tax info at all, just his work letter and bank information with the I-134. Before I got called for my interview, spent about 45 mins in the waiting room all by my lonesome. Not a peep from anywhere, was kinda creepy.

Was called to Room #8 for the interview. I walked in, set my things down, sat down. The consul told me I may as well stand it wasn't going to take long. Was asked a few questions, about the kids, the entry denial in 2005, and a couple of questions about my fiance. And that was it. Wasn't asked for any of the pictures, emails, or anything else I brought for proof of ongoing relationship, they didnt even want to see my military record. Quick. Painless. And we should have our visas friday, at the latest monday. Regardless of what was said here, I was still expecting a really intimidating experience. But thanks to VJ I was well prepared!

Sounds like my experience on Jan 18: lots of security and no one in the waiting room. Lady at window asking for documents and the interview in Room 8. Very few questions ... employer letter and pay stubs were enough. Visa arrives in 3 business days. Yes, thanks to this site, we're prepared and more so! Congratulations on your success!
