hello everyone, I am new to this site and I'm looking for information on how to go about getting my fiance over from the UK. I was out of work last year so I dont have much of an income for that year but for this year I have been doing good and have met and passed the income requirement. I have heard you need 3 years and heard you only need 1 yr of income proof? I have just recently heard that you can have a co-sponsor , I am wondering who they allow to be a co-sponsor ( parent, sibling , friend ? not sure) any help would be greatly appreciated , I would love to get her over here and married to me as soon as possible. as you all know long distance is tough but worth it with the right person.

thanks in advance for your time

The instructions for the I-134 have always stated that tax returns are only required if self-employed. However, many consulates go by the guidelines for the I-864 and want to see at least the most recent tax return from everyone. Very few consulates seem to follow the I-134 instructions and do not need to see the most recent tax return. A few consulates will only go by what is on your last tax return and ignore your current income completely. Follow the instructions from your consulate and/or ask about what is needed in your regional forum.

thanks for the quick response. would you happen to know if the income is just the most recent tax return form ?

Since you're new to this site I'd recommend you to search for any queries you've and you will most likely to get an answer instead of posting :). Best of luck for your journey
