My wife and step-daughter recently went and had their vaccinations. At the clinic the nurse asked if they ever had the chicken pox, both my wife and step-daughter had the chicken pox earlier in life so the nurse didn't give this shot.

My question is upon the civil surgeons transferring the vaccination records over to the I-693a will he/she state that they must have the varicella shot and is it needed on the I-693a if they have already had the chicken pox?

2006-08-29 11:25pm Email from the U.S. Consulate, the interview date is October 17th!

2006-09-29 Medical examination for Xiang and our daughter Qi. Interview is just around the corner!

2006-10-16 11:15pm VISA APPROVED!!!!

2006-10-29 Xiang and Qi arrived in Detroit, immigrations 2 1/2 hours, finally holding my sweetheart in my arms.

2006-11-05 Exchanging our vows, what a beautiful day for our wedding!

Hello,

When I got my I-693a filled out the nurse just asked if I had chicken pox and then checked the box off. Sometimes they want to do a blood test to confirm this though. Most people have had chicken pox in they are above the age of 15 or so because we were never vaccinated as children so I think they believe you when you say you have.

I told the doc at my medical that I rememer very clearly having chicken pox! And that my mum remembered me getting every shot that was going. The civil surgeon just did a titre test, which came back showing immune to everything. All I needed was tetnus. Then he filled in the vaccination sheet with immune to all , the date of the tetnus, and crossed out anything not age appropriate.

Sept 25 - interview date OCTOBER 13th

Oct 26 - arrived at JFK - work authorized

Review History of Acute, Vaccine-Preventable Diseases

The civil surgeon should obtain a good history of acute, vaccine-preventable diseases, including

measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella, from the applicant to identify any naturally acquired

diseases for optional laboratory confirmation (see section IV, “Laboratory Support”). Applicants

who provide a reliable written or oral history of varicella disease do not require laboratory

confirmation or further vaccination.
