Hi all,

First I just wanna say that I`m very happy to have found this site, it is very helpful, and you guys have helped me and my husband a lot during the process: Thank you

I have arrived here on a K1 visa on July 10, got married on August 10. We applied for AOS on August 29 and now we are waiting for my biometric appointment. But we know that the process can go uo to 4-5 months util we go to the interview and I get the temporary green card, so our questions are:

1. The EAD will arrive before we go to the interview? or after we go to the interview and a couple of days before I get my green card? Can I apply for jobs before we go to the interview or should I wait until after? my husband's salary is not that big and I will love to help with the financial support as much as I can.

2. I came here but I don't have a health insurance. What can I do to get a Health insurance prior to my interview? Can I apply for Obama Health Care? Or should I apply for a private Health insurance?. I found this site that can help me get a insurance online even if I'm already in the USA. (here is it: http://www.visitorscoverage.com/)

Thanks,

Dree

You will probably get your ead card within 3 months. We applied for aos 5/14 and my husband got his ead card on aug 14. We still have not been notified of an interview.

As far as health coverage, i was already on obamacare but since getting married is a qualifying life change, i was able to add my husband and now he is insured. We also have joint bank account, and he is listed on my home insurance.

You can apply for jobs but just let them know that you are awaiting your ead. If they want to hire you, you could get a letter and get your ead expedited.

By the way your spouse can not be on medicaid for the next 5 years so you can pay for coverage through obamacare or a private company
